old ramon is an amazing cd and mark will always be a great song
writer. i also have to agree that
idaho is the band that just gets
better and better with every album.
there is no band that moves me like idaho period! jeff is a song
writer of the highest order.
hearts of palm could it get
any better. i don't think so!
bye,
possesfolk

aside from the beatles (obviously), the flaming lips. listen to "hear it is" and "the soft bulletin" back to back - it's almost impossible to believe it's the same band.

Red House Painters don't sound much on "Old Ramon" like they did on "Down Colorful Hill", but they're still great. They've adapted to normal rock songstructures very well I think. I don't know if this is the kind of answer you're looking for.

i can't come up with any other band that has changed its sound as much as IDAHO in its duration and had me loving every bit of it this much. Year After Year and Levitate are worlds apart, and yet they both really reach me in different ways. can anyone else come up with others that have done this so successfully?
