the term "formulaic" does come to mind. especially because they claimed they would reinvent music. puuuulease. it sounds pretty boring to me. pretty, but boring. idaho = pretty AND interesting. more idaho please.

My wife thinks they're elevator music. Oh well.

I thought it was a female singer...oh well

that's true, he does say "you" a lot. i even wondered if every song had the same lyric until i went to their site and saw that's not the case.

my point is (and i don't have their last record so i won't comment on whether it's better or worse than that album), regardless of what he's saying, it's a beautiful and entrancing album. very delicate until the last song, and then there is a huge release. i found it very affecting

It's not as good as their last record.
P.S. - has anyone noticed that it seems every lyric on the new record sounds like "you sigh"?
think about it.

they sing in hopelandish, a personal language by their singer. i love them. i give as a presente to all my friends their svefn-g-englar ep.... my friends are my friends more and more!

hello idaho land, just thought i'd give everyone a heads up to the new cd by sigur ros. it's outstanding. 8 tracks (none in english but still worth it), all of which start very mellow (think levitate only in icelandic)one or two build up to a frenzied collision of tribal drums and sustained guitar. very nice. anyone else heard it yet? am i wrong in my comparisons to idaho?
