and also, once you get over it, DO NOT be in a hurry to commit yourself to another. Like that shitty ol' 80's song goes (think it's by YES) - "the owner of a lonely heart is much better than the owner of a broken heart". awful song, but the sentiment is very true - better off alone than pining for someone!!

well, i can give you one good piece of advice. stay away from any soulwhirlingsomewhere albums right now. people sometimes say it is comforting to hear music with which you can identify... that knowing someone else feels a similar pain can sometimes make you feel a bit better. personally, i have never understood this. why would one want to know that the excruciating mess you feel in your heart someone else has also suffered??? oh well. there isn't much you can do. usually people say to just be patient and that time heals all wounds (although i have yet to see this work for me.) but, in the meantime it seems there is only one healthy or productive thing you can do: get out. don't sit at home and brood. i know it's hard to go anywhere when you feel like a giant pile of crap. but hiding away only directs your thoughts towards the very thing which is bringing you down. so get out. go shopping. play some video games. spend some time with a friend. take a walk. go for a drive. and if you end up bawling half the way how, then that's okay. but, anything that, even if only for one minute, pulls the knife of confusion and sadness out of your neck can at least lessen the total amount of pain you will have felt over this whole thing. don't really try to 'look for answers' right now, because you most likely will not find them. i have learned that in life there are some things we simply MUST SUFFER THROUGH, and there is no way around it. try to be strong through it, if you can. and don't sleep TOO much.
