"although i'm sad to say that i think even more affecting is the songs which you can not listen to anymore. or those that at least make for an emotionally excrutiating experience... sometimes tunes just attatch themselves to certain experiences in your life, and from then on you can no longer disassociate the two."
she's leaving home - Beatles. nuff said.
earlier this year i listened to the seaworthy album "the ride" every night, for about 2 months straight. i hardly ever listen to the same record daily, no matter how good it is, but "the ride" was/is like an addictive narcotic for me.
I have just recently been listening to "For Granted" on repeat endlessly. What a great song. Normally, doing this would eventually make me sick of the song, but not yet...
jawbreaker, "dear you" record.
listened to it consecutively for almost one year, meaning that when i did listen to music -- which was quite often -- that was all i listened to
i had a similar problem w/ levitate. around the time it came out last year i was going thru a traumatic breakup (yeah i know, boo f'in hoo) and the album, especially the last 2 songs were just too sad to listen to.. very painful. happily, i'm better now and only recently have i been able to listen to levitate and not feel devastated.
i remember listening to "Famous Last Words" by tears for fears in one sitting for about 5 hours. some of it was while i was on the phone. but it was overcast and stormy that day (a rarity in arizona) and it just seemed to fit for some reason.

i am heartbroken to say that idaho's "levitate" is one of them. maybe in about 8 or nine years it will lessen, but for now, it is just too difficult.
sorry i strayed off the topic.
