Right, all im saying is if a band sounds like Rush and its mathy, I wouldnt buy it. There are cool mathy bands around like Shiner, C-Clamp, Castor, even Shellac or Slint, but none sound much like Rush. Do the bands you mentioned sound like Rush AND are mathy, andy? I guess thats my issue, the both combined (mathy and sounds-like-Rush) would definitely cause me to steer the other way.

Explain "dead". There is a great math rock band in Ottawa called Weights and Measures. Very cool stuff. Shudder to think were pretty good at it on the Pony Express Record. Heavy Vegetable were mathy.
