What can I say Jeff?Pure magic.And the
piano,my God the piano............
ahhhhh, life is good again,thank-you.See you at
Windsor and Toronto shows!
I'm with Rob S. ... this IS Idaho's best record so far. After listening to it the first time, I was hooked. If you haven't purchased your copy yet ... RUN, don't walk, to get it!!!
Hmmm Hm Hmhhh hmmmmm. I hope we haven't spoil it for ya. It's pretty hard to spoil.
hey, guys you are killing me. i haven't gotten my copy yet and i can't wait any longer. could somebody hum some of the songs to me?
peace
Thanks eraserhead.
It's nice that we fans are agreeing on something. I've listened to it about 10 times now.
I think it is the best IDAHO record so far.... Not because it's new. It really is THAT good and has all the Idaho TM's and more.
Oh my gawd ... LEVITATE is pure Idaho perfection! I am personally blown away. I've only been an Idaho fan since 1995, but this is by far the best effort yet. It's orgasmic!
Rob S, that is a good comparison. I was thinking the same. Very happy with levitate.
I got my copy today!!
I think it is a cross between 3 sheets and Alas (and then some more). The drum programming is great and so too are the drums. I like the ghost notes on the snare.
Nice work Alex.
The songs are very strong, yet delicate. I think this is one of the greatest IDAHO releases yet..... But they all have their own charm. I like this one more than "HOP". Great stuff again Jeff.
fyi the album is also being sold on the tour, so you might want to just wait, it is the same $$, fifteen, but i bet they make more profit this way, since they don't have to mail it, or let a store take a part of the money... one note, the album is one of the least accessable IDAHO CDs to date. not because it is weird time-wise or dissonant, like a few songs from ALAS, but just about anyone with a few IDHAO albums under the belt can note they are getting mellower with each passing release. usually there is a nice mix of quiet atmospheric "audio sunrises" as i like to call them, contrasting with a rocker like Fuel, Pomegranate, Hearts Of Palm, or Creep, etc. the new album, while keeping the gorgeous soundscapes of previous CDs is lacking anything that 'kicks ass'. i guess this year Jeff isn't feeling so much of the fury of times past? or maybe the distortion boxes got lost- lol ... i was really hoping that Jump Up would make it onto this one, even though with all the introspective piano overwhelming the album it might have been a little out of place. a good album, but a sleepy gem. something that will require peace and quiet to absorb the songs properly. my faves real quick so far are 20 Years (which was awesome live) and levitate- also awesome. oh yeah For Granted was really good at the show too, more aggro in the live show... ok, well that's enough to absorb for now!!!! hear it for yourself!
i pre-ordered mine 7 days ago and i haven't gotten it yet!!!i'm DYING here!!!
I think Barry is by far the number one IDAHO fan on the planet!!
i agree with the above. and i have to say that as good as hearts of palm was/is, i think levitate simply blows it away. "orange" in particular is incredible, right up there with "get you back" and "save". what does everyone else think?
Dear idaho,
Yesterday I recieved my copy of LEVITATE in the mail. Naturally I listened to it and think that its completely wonderful. I really want to take this time to mention a few things to all the people involved, working hard with idahomusic. Some people may not understand the effort, money, energy and time that goes into making good records and running a label. I am sure that at times things want to unfold but forces keep them together, and from every idaho fan I would like to say we are so very greatful that you continue to do what you do. Over the years Idaho has spoken from within and been very true to itself.Idahomusic is the development of an idea, a music, mind and strength. Greater than any one song or person, through time, Idaho has represented a level of solidity that will forever remind and amaze us of a pursuit for unity, and unmatched integrity.
