RE: Idaho Recipes | from PeteJul 20 2001 - 14:07

Up yours, Benny boy.

It wasn't even my recipe.

RE: Idaho Recipes | from BenJul 20 2001 - 14:00

No Pete, that will NOT be the end of topic; YOUR SALAD RECIPE SUCKED ASS!

RE: Idaho Recipes | from brianJul 19 2001 - 15:34

Pete,
Here's the link to the ODP search engine and the Idaho category I edit. There are quite a few Hearts of Palm reviews.

http://dmoz.org/Arts/Music/Bands_and_Artists/I/Idaho/

I know when I try and find anything about HOP, the recipes were all I could find on most search engines too.

RE: Idaho Recipes | from eraserheadJul 19 2001 - 15:11

That is too funny, Pete. Who would have thought salad would cause such a stir!

RE: Idaho Recipes | from Pete Jul 19 2001 - 13:53

Didn't realise I was going to be causing such a fuss. Did a search for "Hearts of Palm" and came across hundreds of recipes but no Idaho, don't even know what the hell hearts of palm are. Found it amusing - unlike most of you sad bastards out there. Just trying to introduce a little Idaho-related imagination and humor to the Board. Didn't know that these were banned....

End of Topic - please!

RE: Idaho Recipes | from twigsyJul 19 2001 - 12:27

Jeeezz, harsh crowd...

RE: Idaho Recipes | from twigsyJul 19 2001 - 12:25

Just adding humor to the recipe, seems like some lack sense of humor. By the way, Ive always hated football or any sport, Im left handed, and all I do is art and music, I dont even work, all I do is art and music I say!!! Art and music, art and music art and music art and music!!! So please refrain from your football stereotypes when all this world needs is a sense of humor and less robotic non humorous conformists. Oh I liked Peters recipe, I was just drunk and hungry for tater tots at the time and figured he could brew me up some.

Oh my goodness. | from RossJul 19 2001 - 11:28

1 kilo inspiration
2 pounds humour

RE: Idaho Recipes | from BenJul 17 2001 - 08:08

It's funny how this guy gets attacked for being a dork when there are plenty of much more deserving people to attack on this (and all) message board(s).

This guy said something other than, "Hey, Jeff! We shouldn't be able to hear such beautiful music!" and for that I salute him.

RE: Idaho Recipes | from hungryJul 16 2001 - 16:53

mmm... sounds yummy!

What do hearts of palm taste like?

How about adding some pomegranate?

RE: Idaho Recipes | from christianJul 16 2001 - 11:06

guys... it's just a frickin' recipe!!! maybe if you all had other means of human contact besides this message board, your collective panties wouldn't be in such a bunch. relax!!!!

RE: Idaho Recipes | from Chris PenningtonJul 15 2001 - 02:08

Hearts of Palm Salad

4 servings
2 16-ounce cans of hearts of palm
1/3 cup chopped red bell pepper
1/3 cup chopped yellow bell pepper
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon dijon mustard
2 tablespoons low-sodium chicken broth (remove fat)
1 tablespoon olive oil
ground pepper to taste
very small amount of salt (optional)
lettuce leaves

1. Drain the hearts of palm, cut them into ½-inch pieces, and put them into a large bowl. Stir in the red pepper, yellow pepper, and chopped parsley.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, mustard, chicken broth, and olive oil. Drizzle the dressing over the hearts of palm mixture and toss gently. Season to taste with salt (optional) and pepper. Line a serving bowl with lettuce leaves, spoon the salad on top and serve.
