RE: Eastern Thought...spirituality | from colinMar 27 2000 - 09:50
I don't think "Spirituality" is supposed to mean anything in particular. I believe it to be "Whatever works for you" kind of thing. Some people take it to mean practice of a tradition like Christianity or Hinduism, but that doesn't work for me because I don't buy into any one tradition. I guess my question to you refers to any personal philosophy based upon life-experience that helps you or provides structure for you in living. The dali-lama e-mail is a good example of this type of structure. I hope this isn't sounding to heady and intellectual. I am mostly just curious about how this may tie into the creative process of makeing music. Any ideas? Thanks for your time

Jeff,
I recieved your email quote from the Dali Lama last week and wanted to say thanks. It is alway good to be reminded of these things. It also made me curious about your views on spirituality. Do you follow any form of spirituality in particular? I am curious because I got my degree in comparative religion w/ a concentration in Eastern Thought. I find many ties between the harmony of the spirit and the harmony in birthing music. By all means if you feel this is to personal than just let me know, I don't mean to pry. Just a question from one artist to another.
Be Well,
