RobbY - sorry about that, spelling isn't my strong suit. In fact, sometimes I even misspell my own name. I'm like "b" or "d."

Anyway thanks for the background, indeed people have come and gone in the Idaho camp and it's not always easy to keep track. Appreciate you taking the time to clue me in! Cheers!

hi c

it's robby, robbie, robert, bob??

turns out, when you live in los angeles, and you just reach out to people, being local goes a long way.. if you have the talent to back it up, i guess.
plus, as i always say, i had been ripping off idaho since i was a teenager, I was a shoo-in.

I hit up jeff on instagram, pandemic had just started, he was posting unfinished songs, I offered a helping hand to get them finished.
met bill sanke and jeff at jeff's house in laurel canyon.
we jammed with the door open (covid).

however, I just moved to eugene, oregon right after the LA show on march 1st 2025 (like left jeff's house at midnight..), I'm currently building out a studio on the first floor.
we will ideally continue to work on songs remotely together in our respective studios, sending stuff back and fourth, or meeting, whatever.

I could live without any more touring unless it was a particularly worthwhile event (festival, etc), but touring the states (as fun as it is for about an hour or two) just feels like a money suck, plus myself and the rest of the band all have day jobs.. it's not easy to eat up your vacation time and leave nothing left for family vacations etc.. happy that we record all of the shows though, that does make it worthwhile. I love having that stuff to look back at / listen to.

the future isn't totally clear, but I do know I love writing songs on those stupid 4 stringers.

Hmm... First post of 2025.
I can't believe the first time I posted on this very message board was a quarter century ago now.
Anyway - listening a lot to Lapse lately. How did Robbie come to work with Jeff, anyway? Just curious as to how it went down.
Here's to more where that came from...
