wow, a whole genre that i have yet to have hands onto..
i will try the tuning on my strat and see how i go..
the tuning certainly sounds like some sort of twisted heaven
on the recording..

Tony, I have 7 four string guitars and still use the original 2 the most as they are the bust ones John Carruthers produced.
Yes the G# is the lowest string. That tuning is one of my very favorites out of the 30 or so that I've come up with :)

yes i hadn't noticed from the youtube post re the 4 string guitar..
was that your main guitar at the time?
so, with the G#, D#, F, A# tuning...
am i assuming correctly that G# is the "low" string (previously the low E?)

Hey Tony!! Really the beset I can offer you is this link to the original Skyscrape tablature. Crudely drawn up by yours truly almost 25 years ago.

I'm afraid it is not in regular tuning. And it's played on a 4 string guitar. If you fell compelled to tune up the 4 lowest strings on your 6 string
to the indicated tuning I salute your efforts :)

hey, is the tune 'skyscrape' played in regular tuning?
