I feel, though, that manly depilation may remove a certain beefy quality from the reverb. Is there a way to give the clipped hair sonics some breadth without compromising cleanliness?

Wax them for the best tone. That's what the pros do. Trust me on this.

depends on the compressor you use. tape a piezo mic to your creamy thigh, run it through a Manley or a Focusrite and you're in leg-smackin' Heaven!
