RE: Brian Eno confusion shocker | from Alex NiedtApr 07 2005 - 21:16
There's a brand new Fripp and Eno collaboration album called "The Equatorial Stars". It's their first work together since "Evening Star". There's a review on allmusic.com

Interesting stuff...
I feel that I have only scratched the surface of Eno's disturbingly prolific career...
Thanks for the recommendations - I'll be looking out for Shutov Assembly and Before and After Science...
P.S. Apollo wins for me so far, too! But yes, you are right, we will not be impressing anyone by disclosing this. Pretend I never mentioned it.
Sorry for the stutter.
The last four tracks of Before and After Science are particular favorites of mine. They have a lot of of the ambient feel with great lyrics.
I like any Eno but those cds are the best.
i love most of Eno's ambient stuff, and although it would probably seem typically generic to list "Apollo" as my favorite, it still is. it's just so.... i dunno... floaty. dreamy. alone. i love it. plus the pedal steel really give it a great earthy (yet spacey) feel.
but other than that obvious choice, i'd say my favorite is Shutov Assembly. it is so freakin cold and isolated and disturbingly impersonal, yet simultaneously pretty, somehow. check it out if you havent heard it.
yeah, it's awesome. "The Pearl" is amazing too.
If that's the "Plateaux of Mirror" CD, then hell yes. Love that CD so much.
Is it just me, or does anyone else who listens to the excellent 'Ambient #2' [Brian Eno], get a strange Levitate flashback during track 7 (entitled 'the chill air').
I keep expecting Jeff to emerge... but, alas, he does not.
