Yeah, I heard "Rever". I think the story behind it (although I'm not sure it's true) is way more interesting than the record itself. I wasn't that impressed. Maybe the new one is better?

Speaking of Michael Gira, and off the topic of DCFC, but has anyone listened to Larsen? Quite an interesting story behind it. Haven't listened to their latest release, yet, but the first was really good.
Check it out if you haven't already.
My situation is reversed. I actually loved "We Have The Facts...", back in 2000. I listened to that record A LOT and I still think it's a great album. "The Photo Album" was a disappointment though (aside from the last song, which is stellar), and "Transatlanticism" is nothing. I tried to like it, but I just couldn't. Too whiny and sterile. I haven't listened to it in well over a year. I think the breaking point was that song where Gibbard whines over and over "I need you so much closer...". UGH. Makes me want to puke.
Didn't Death Cab just sign with Atlantic?
Maybe Michael Gira SHOULD produce their next album. That might make it interesting.
Agreed Adam. You should have stuck with Swans.
worst thing ever? a bright eyes death cab duet. I'd rather fuck myself with a chainsaw.
After three listens to Transatlanticism I never want to hear the guy's voice again. Maybe if I wait awhile, I'll change my opinion, but I doubt it.
I heard a song from that disc called "We Looked Like Giants". Took me a minute to get into it, but it's not bad. The bridge part is cool.
