RE: The ELECTION.. | from meNov 01 2004 - 19:40

Beating the Yankees was amazing, but beating Bush will be total and utter gratification....no--now that I think about it, beating the Yankees was total and utter gratification...beating Bush will just be survival. Go Nader!

RE: The ELECTION.. | from ronNov 01 2004 - 18:12

uh, JB, aren't you a smackhead?

RE: The ELECTION.. | from JBOct 31 2004 - 21:09

I will be voting with rage and for John Kerry.

RE: The ELECTION.. | from ronOct 31 2004 - 19:26

i'm not sure there's really a true "left-wing" representation in popular government. america is too much of an indifferent nation to have a true left-wing. americans, i think, for the most part are one or two issue voters. they look at how a candidate stands on, say, abortion, and they vote accordingly. abortion and "national security" seem to me to be the biggest issues. and that's the sad thing. there is a huge contingent of voters (or potential voters) who do not necessarily want to vote for bush, but they will b/c he overtly opposes abortion (of any kind.) i hate to say it, but i think he will be re-elected precisely b/c of this issue. meanwhile, those same voters who vote for bush--and essentially against abortion--will be re-electing a president who apparently has no problem killing thousands of adults. i don't necessarily want kerry, but if having kerry means NOT having bush, then i can live with that.

RE: The ELECTION.. | from christinaOct 27 2004 - 11:59

well i hate to tell you this but perhaps i should since you haven't figured it out yet:

a) unless one is already president, everything is still a plan. kerry can't exactly go do anything yet. (i wonder what bush's excuse is as his plans have gotten us in this mess and he refuses to do anything different in the future)

b) no politician is going to say " i won't clean up the iraq mess and i won't make it any better" yeah that sounds like a really good campaign message.

c) politicians as far as "decent" candidates go you really are living in a dream world. either a 'politician' has experience in government matters which means he has already been compromised in the "ideals" of the far right or left, OR he has no experience and is going to push one agenda down everyone's throat and/or leave many of us with no confidence that he/she can actually get the job done.

who is a "decent" candidate and what does that mean?

a decorated war hero with 20 years of congressional experience and the endorsements of many many reputable people doesen't fall out as decent?

as a person who considers herself slightly left of middle of the road, and who works in politics/government and realizes the complexity of the issues and the bills drafted to address them, I think Kerry is more than a decent candidate.

RE: The ELECTION.. | from nadar-sucksOct 27 2004 - 11:13

lets see ...

1st pres since hoover to loose jobs
iraq a complete mess
iraq had nothin to do with 911

environmentlly stupid

what a fuckin mess.

annette are you blonde?

RE: The ELECTION.. | from ckOct 27 2004 - 05:38

It's very simple: As many as four new Supreme Court justices will be appointed over the next four years. I don't want a fundamentalist Christian choosing the nominees. He's bound to get a few religious fanatics on the bench, and that scares the shit out of me. And if you really want "pie in the sky" vote for Nader. To quote Donald Rumsfeld:

As we know,
There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
We also know
There are known unknowns.
That is to say
We know there are some things
We do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns,
The ones we don't know we don't know.

Give me the "known unknown" any day.

RE: The ELECTION.. | from cOct 27 2004 - 05:20

I agree with Realist. Bush is easily the most inept president the U.S. has had in at least a century, if not longer... 4 more years of Bush will definitely turn the U.S. into a 3rd world nation.

On the other hand Kerry is such a waffler, and is always talking about "plans" but it's all pie in the sky.

It's really the lesser of 2 evils, and I can't decide. Fuck 'em both.

RE: The ELECTION.. | from MACOct 27 2004 - 01:03

Well I can't speak for the band, but I think you quite possibly have brain damage.
Hey, I have an idea, why don't you guys 86 this cum guzzling whore?

RE: The ELECTION.. | from AnnetteOct 26 2004 - 23:15

Yeah, I'm more wealthy than "rich" and am voting Bush. Ignorants will surely vote Kerry, right IDAHO?

RE: The ELECTION.. | from christinaOct 26 2004 - 22:29

fine go stick your head in the sand. massive, yes. bureaucratic? not the right term for a party. perhaps an agency. choose for us? then run for office and choose for us. but equating the two parties the same and representing it as no difference shows that you are either super rich or dreaming yourself.

RE: The ELECTION.. | from realistOct 26 2004 - 19:56

go nobody. haven't had a decent candidate to vote for in years.

the people have choice. yeah. between two yahoos that two massive political bureaucratic organizations choose for us. some choice. anyone that's excited about either candidate is dreaming.

RE: The ELECTION.. | from azgalOct 26 2004 - 16:15
