For those who don’t know how/what Rasputina is, I want to tell you that Rasputina is a ladies rock cello band. You heard me. They play rock/industrial goth music on the classical instrument formally known as the cello. They sound incredible and most of their lyrics are based on historical events and figures. They wear corsets/bloomers/hoop skirts/top hats to their concerts because they love the Victorian era clothing.

They’re toured/played with many bands like Belle and Sebastian, Hazard county girls, Mindless self indulgence. The lead singer Melora Creager, has toured with Marilyn Manson back in 1996 and played as a solo cellist with Nirvana in their last tour in 1994.

I highly encouraged you all to check them out, and for those who already know them, their latest CD “Frustration Plantation” will be released in March 16, 2004.
