i have things we lost in the fire and trust. it's not that i think everything sounds the same but i get very bored listening to them. the uptempo songs 'sunflower' and dinosaur act' are the best songs on things we lost in the fire. on trust i think i like 'in the drugs' and '(that's how you sing) amazing grace' the most. how do the older albums sound?
i agree with seth, i used to not quite get low, but then i saw them live recently, they were amazing and it helped me to "get" them, i would suggest jeff b, instead of buying a record, spend that money on seeing them live
Low are such great people who play great music if you're in for it. i haven't been keeping track though with what they put out, all i know is that they 'boomed' in NL and i lost interest.
Ok that's me, fan of underdogs...
anyone heard news on Sophia??? Never read anything on the board about them. THE underdog next to Idaho, highly underestimated
jeff: your statement is quite ignorant. what does faith have to do with the quality of music and art? wow. that is the first lame post i've read from you. maybe you should think before you post.
"Things We Lost in the Fire" is my favorite album, but Alex is right. There is definitely a lot of repetition in the Low catalog.
They are an amazing live band though. I think that's really the best way to appreciate what they do.
The Mormon thing is really no big deal. For a minimalist record, I'd go with I Could Live In Hope. For a less minimalistic approach, I'd go with Trust, but most people would just tell you to get Things We Lost In The Fire. I rarely listen to Low anymore, though. I'm getting very tired of it.
what am I missing - what is the deal with Low? if I had to buy 1 record - which one should I get -
all i know is that Minimalist Mormon slowcore is a recipe for disaster.......
