RE: slidingpast.com | from brianJan 28 2007 - 16:09

hey Adam, it's always cool to find those flyers and posters from shows you've been too. i know i'm always looking for stuff from all the shows i've been to through the years from all bands i've seen.

glad you got to see it.

you wouldn't happen to have a ticket stub or anything else from that show, or any others, to be able to add to slidingpast would you?

thanks.

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianJan 28 2007 - 16:05

here are a few more updates:

RE: slidingpast.com | from ronAug 26 2005 - 14:58

wow. that flier is fantastic.

RE: slidingpast.com | from RahulAug 25 2005 - 17:22

are the tour dates from 2000 onwards on slidingpast complete? reason i ask is that by my count, idaho has only done 1 show in LA since 2000. (the derby show in 2002)

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianAug 24 2005 - 19:48

here's something, for now, that i found on ebay a few months ago, surprisingly.

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianAug 24 2005 - 19:44

a major update will be coming soon courtesy of Mr.

RE: slidingpast.com | from michelMar 04 2005 - 16:58

RE: slidingpast.com | from michelMar 04 2005 - 16:37

RE: slidingpast.com | from michelMar 04 2005 - 16:33

you didn't have that one already? i;ll scan it for you, i got a red and black vinyl.

RE: slidingpast.com | from KernMar 04 2005 - 14:09

sorry, I can`t. I don`t have a digital camera. The artwork is the same, it`s just the vinyl colour that is different.

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianMar 02 2005 - 11:01

Kern, or anyone that has that, can you send me a scan of it?

RE: slidingpast.com | from KernMar 02 2005 - 08:58

I just wanted to let you know that I picked up a copy of the Idaho/Cobolt Split 7" two months ago. It is black vinyl and apparently limited to 400. Ihave 50/400.

hope you didnt know that yet.

and german or european Idaho fans can order it from www.greenhell.de

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianFeb 18 2005 - 12:45

i added the search function. if anyone has problems, let me know.

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianFeb 14 2005 - 18:47

Anyone have a playlist for the Euro shows? Sorry if this is already been covered but I get tired of wading through all the purile shit on this board.

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianJan 22 2005 - 22:43

there have been photos added to some of the 2004 tour shows, most recently the Ephemere show.

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianDec 15 2004 - 14:29

i've added 40 photos from Europe, with more to come

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianDec 08 2004 - 16:48

RE: slidingpast.com | from Alex NiedtDec 04 2004 - 17:35

Looks good.

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianDec 04 2004 - 16:50

ok, so i've changed some stuff again. only one pop up now for the SMB cd. the red banner links are non working as i've just made the site links available at the top of the screen permanent (for now).

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianDec 04 2004 - 05:18

Andrew, you should see 2 windows when you go to the main page, one is the navigation window and the other is about the SMB cd. the top slidingpast banner, when clicked, will only reload the banner and the navigation window if someone has closed it. i'll adjust things over the weekend. a mix of old and new.

RE: slidingpast.com | from AndrewDec 03 2004 - 23:08

The poster is cool but now the rest of the site isn't working well. The top 'Sliding Past' banner doesn't go anywhere. And it's not my pop-up blocker. If I go to the updates page, the good 'Sliding Past' banner is there below the new one that doesn't go anywhere and I can navigate from there.

RE: slidingpast.com | from ronDec 03 2004 - 22:59

cool, brian. very cool. love the fliar.

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianDec 03 2004 - 20:58

i've updated the site tonight and i'm trying a new pop up navigation, so if you have them blocked, allow them for slidingpast and somethingmustbreak.

what was Jeff doing musically in 1978 you ask?

RE: slidingpast.com | from RickSep 22 2004 - 12:23

I just noticed the 80's idaho recordings. awesome/hilarious. sounds like jeff used to be a comsat angels fan.

RE: slidingpast.com | from Alex NiedtSep 02 2004 - 10:20

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianAug 23 2004 - 21:54

finally after 5 days the site is back up. updates to come.

RE: slidingpast.com | from Seth HowardAug 04 2004 - 16:02

Any headway in posting the KEXP performance I sent you? I noticed you posted the songs played and the time. The KEXP web site says they hold the copywright to in-studio recordings, but they did not post this one in their archives. Do you want me to try to help you get permission? I know a few people there.

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianAug 04 2004 - 11:33

i finally found info on the compilation that featured SPIRAL on it from 2000 that was released in Canada. Jeff mentioned on here once before.

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianJul 30 2004 - 22:55

i finally added the merchandise section. i still have to get a good photo of the Three Sheets poster up and a better one of the YAY poster would do it more justice. i think there's at least one more shirt out there as well. images of anything missing will be appreciated.

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianJun 04 2004 - 21:42

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianMay 19 2004 - 23:07

RE: slidingpast.com | from milneMay 05 2004 - 13:34

how'd you get ahold of the setlist?

RE: slidingpast.com | from marcMay 04 2004 - 07:37

I found a new an article which I do not think is on your site Brian. Sorry if I didn't look hard enough...

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianApr 08 2004 - 20:10

it's you Alex or the school comps. i downloaded everything again to check. would probably help to be using the current version of Quicktime which is linked from the video page.

RE: slidingpast.com | from Alex againApr 08 2004 - 12:21

Not when I'm at school. Don't you have anything better to do? I'm sure there's something out there that would be more productive than bothering me about every single thing I post.

RE: slidingpast.com | from me againApr 08 2004 - 10:53

sheesh Alex, don't you have anything better to do?!?

I do not agree.

RE: slidingpast.com | from AndrewMar 24 2004 - 09:57

blah blah verbose bullshit blah blah blah I'm full of myself blah blah blah aren't I annoying blah blah

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianJan 22 2004 - 01:01

i've added the rest of the correspondence that i have had access to so far. including the most interesting ones from the publicity agency at the time, Susan Blond Inc. with two mentioning a possible tour that would have been great to see and MAY have drawn more attention to I D A H O at the time. there are quite a few updates from this agency regarding press coverage during a 3-4 month campaign, but most are pretty repetitive in detailing which publication may or may not cover the band so i didn't include them all.

RE: slidingpast.com | from Alex NiedtJan 21 2004 - 20:19

Yeah, I kinda wish Jeff would go back to singing in his lower register once in a while. It would give Idaho CDs even more variety.

RE: slidingpast.com | from CodreanuJan 21 2004 - 19:14

Reading the '92-'93 correspondence this afternoon compelled me to insert 'Year After Year' into my player and it has yet to cease. I so love hearing Jeff sing with his lower register! I am pleased to reconfirm YAY's place among my favorite albums. -To be quite superficial, after viewing the '93 photographs I must state that Mr. Martin had the most remarkable hair. :)

RE: slidingpast.com | from herrelJan 21 2004 - 17:18

this is upsetting but it isnt that surprising, to be realistic, unfortunatly the music industry is an "industry" and they need to sell records so their employees can afford to pay their mortgages and feed and cloth their families, also idaho arnt the most commercial sounding of bands.

i suppose to summarise i could write "this doesnt excuse their actions, but at least now i feel we understand them a little better"

It is distressing though to read this sort of stuff, but i do think if anyone else reading this is upset, then they get up off their asses and set up their own record company to distribute music the way they feel it should be done. especially musicians who want to distibute their own music, maybe this internet thing could be handy!

post more of these letters brian, i would like to know what happened next to this band "idaho"

RE: slidingpast.com | from Alex NiedtJan 21 2004 - 10:14

I see why Jeff doesn't want to mess with labels anymore. It also further solidifies my opinion of them in general.

RE: slidingpast.com | from JR OlssonJan 21 2004 - 07:37

thanks for that! i was truly enjoyed reading it. i gotta tip my friends.

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianJan 21 2004 - 00:08

an interesting update i've been working on and finally just put up (with more to come, hopefully)

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianNov 17 2003 - 00:49

Alex, thanks for letting me know. you apparently caught the site while i was updating various sections. all is working now.

RE: slidingpast.com | from Alex NiedtNov 17 2003 - 00:07

Brian, maybe you're aware of this, but the reviews for Hearts of Palm aren't coming up. There's an error of some sort.

RE: slidingpast.com | from AlexNov 16 2003 - 23:56

What's with so many of the Year After Year reviewers confusing John with Jeff? Was there a misprint in the original press info or something?

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianNov 11 2003 - 23:52

RE: slidingpast.com | from lyric's houndNov 11 2003 - 07:28

Do you have the lyrics on the site for the Hearts of Palm & We Were Young.....????

RE: slidingpast.com | from michelNov 10 2003 - 10:19

maybe i haven't dug deep enough in brians site, but i can't seem to find smt on the score Jeff did of some festival film a few years back. the tunes were in a sample he had put up once. maybe Jeff can come up with a full song or two, as i remember it to be beautiful. can't remember the title of it though.
also a long long time ago there was an mp3 of a live performance on a party, (alive again?) that was neat enough to put up maybe?

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianNov 10 2003 - 09:20

the navigation will change eventually to have links to go wherever from the start. i like it for now though. sorry for any problems. i've linked the sections in order of the way i've worked on them. releases. tours. photos. press.

RE: slidingpast.com | from curiousNov 10 2003 - 08:36

for the life of me i cant figure out how to navigate around this site.....where the heck is the german interview for instance?...i once stumbled across a press page but cannot find it again....the site needs better navigational links .....its really great otherwise

RE: slidingpast.com | from brianNov 09 2003 - 23:51

Andrew, i am hoping to include audio & video at some point on slidingpast.com.

RE: slidingpast.com | from AndrewNov 09 2003 - 19:39

RE: slidingpast.com | from Alex NiedtNov 05 2003 - 09:35

Jeff, to give people something to compare to, do you consider the show in the other thread ("Levitate", "Lately", "To Be The One", "Parting Ways", etc.) good?

RE: slidingpast.com | from jeffNov 04 2003 - 22:43

only if its "good"...im not a big fan of live recordings......just put up the cream of the crop as it were

RE: slidingpast.com | from dcsNov 04 2003 - 08:56
