Big street party here in Toronto. Spontaneous block party in my own little area, with everyone chipping in food, drink, smokables. Out came the guitars. Remarkably, perhaps, there were no reports of looting in this city, but lots of instances of citizens taking over intersections to help direct traffic, other citizens thanking them with soft drinks & snacks. People actually (gasp), talking to each other, since tv, stereos, computers, even cel phones were out of commission. Wonderful dark sky full of stars - incredible to see in the city. Most people I talked to thought the whole thing was just amazing & should become a once monthly event...mind you, going heatless in January might not seem such a great idea come the middle of winter. With their elevators out of order, I had to climb up 25 flights to bring about 30 pounds of food, water & emergency supplies like flashlight & radio batteries to my aged parents' apartment. Ok once but I'd rather not make a habit of it.
it's not all that weird, really. i heard a lot of people had it happen. you and i, at least i know for sure. that's two.
Micah, wow, man, I just came round. Was hurling chunks after a bad binge and I hit my head on the porcelain rim. Man, that was some blackout. You too huh? Too weird...
i'm well aware of that. since most people have been back online for awhile now, however,.....
uhhhh, if they don't have power, they can't like, get your post....
I don't have much of a story, but power was restored to me (in Detroit) at 11:30 ET last night, after 31 1/2 hours. Some people here are still without it. All you in the affected areas, how are you doing?
