RE: idaho tour | from jdbOct 06 2000 - 08:30

i would simply recommend walking up to them and saying, "hello"...

RE: idaho tour | from Matthew E.Oct 05 2000 - 08:18

Holy cow... I am a student at Oberlin College in Ohio, and I am overjoyed to see that Idaho will be playing in my hometown of Cincinnati over fall break on October 11!! I've only been to three concerts (Legendary Pink Dots, Magnetic Fields, REM 'n Radiohead), and from the above messages, I expect a teriffic experience. To top that, Idaho's playing Cleveland in November! I hope to make both shows.
I would like to know if anybody (especially Jeff or Dan) can suggest a way for me to speak to the band before or after the concert at the Southgate House.

montreal? on the 5th?.. i can help. ottawa on the 6th? i can help. toronto. you got it done. and on the 7th - london, on could work well. or possibly another major southern ontario city...before you go to detroit or buffalo or wherever..

let me know.
i love you guys to death and would love to be able to help you out...at the very least i can give you contacts..

RE: idaho tour | from jeff b. Sep 25 2000 - 16:50

Hi Jeff, Dan, etc...
are you guys trying to book a club show in Chicago on 10/14 or is it just the in-store? A few weeks ago, Jeff mentioned a show at Empty Bottle.... here's hopin!!!!
can't wait for the new record!

RE: idaho tour | from jeffSep 25 2000 - 09:12

we are working on a show at the cactus in milwaukee for the 12th of oct. any other ideas? thats the only date that will work...and this is the only city that is on route

RE: idaho tour | from ashleySep 25 2000 - 08:39

any chances of a wisconsin show on one of the nights you're between duluth, mn and chicago, il? i would be more than happy to help with booking... i've been waiting to see you guys ever since i missed out on the 'three sheets' tour.

RE: idaho tour | from Seth HowardSep 25 2000 - 08:13

Having no time to soundcheck is the worst. Broken gear doesn't exactly help matters any either. I still wish I could have been there. I heard John Fahey played during NXNW too. That would have been something to see. If you are planning on coming to Seattle (and I hope you are), here are some venues you might want to check out.

1. The Crocodile Cafe - could be great on a weekend with a good bill - iffy on weeknights unless there's a big drawing band playing.
2. I-Spy - a fun place to play - nice folks - good sound. It's not the highest profile club in town though.
3. The Breakroom - seems to be booking more punkish shows lately -also seems to be having trouble putting a bill together that makes sense.
4. Graceland - more punk rock and spotty bills...
5. The O.K. Hotel - a nice cozy club, but it seems to be trying to attract a yuppier crowd lately.
6. The Paradox Theatre - a really cool all ages venue, but very indie rock too. This could be a disaster without the right booking and promotion.
7. The Sit and Spin - a club/laundromat - I've seen some great shows there in the past but they don't seem to be doing much lately.

As far as local bands go, my favorite right now would have to be Sushirobo. They're fronted by Rick Roberts from Peach (Idaho's labelmate during the Caroline era). They play really great Television-style pop augmented by scads of weird guitar effects. Oh, and they're nice fellas too. Other local bands that might be good to play with are Kinski, Voyager One, and of course Death Cab for Cutie (if they're in town).

Be sure to get in touch with KCMU (kcmu.org) too if you're planning on coming. John Richards, the morning DJ would be a good guy to talk to.

I'm sure Dave might have some more suggestions for you too if you're thinking about coming.

RE: idaho tour | from jeffSep 24 2000 - 17:37

so our show at NXNW was pretty miserable (horrible sounding club, no time to set up, no monitors, broken equipment, too many other things to list)...our show the next day at the wonderful music millenium record store was really fun....some great moments in the set...maybe we dont suck after all...look forward to seeing you out there soon.....j

RE: idaho tour | from DaveSep 19 2000 - 17:43

Sonic Boom is great. I got tickets
to a Quasi show there two weeks
back and it was the best live show
I've ever been to and my girlfriend
agreed. They even dig (and carry)
Rat Cat Hogan. Idaho and Rat Cat?
Wow - that's greatness in breadth
and taste.

Okay - enough tangents already!
If you come to Seattle, Seth has
got the right idea; certainly call
up Sonic Boom. Just a start:

(206) 547-BOOM

RE: idaho tour | from Seth HowardSep 19 2000 - 16:52

This makes two votes for Seattle. I'm not sure, but I don't think I'll be able to make it to NXNW. Give Sonic Boom Records a call if you come. I know those guys dig your stuff, and they might be able to set up an in-store.

RE: idaho tour | from DaveSep 18 2000 - 15:35

Don't forget the Northwest! I'll
be eagerly waiting up here in

RE: idaho tour | from GregSep 18 2000 - 08:14

Was very happy to see you booked into the (in)famous El Mo in Toronto for November 6. Looking forward to the show!

RE: idaho tour | from JasonMay 25 2000 - 16:33

RE: idaho tour | from Jason RobinsonMay 22 2000 - 23:24

If you can stand the heat, maybe a date in Phoenix AZ would cure some ill's. I know someone who would find a good spot for ya. Let me know.

RE: idaho tour | from davidApr 19 2000 - 00:06

RE: idaho tour | from jeffApr 05 2000 - 01:15

i actually tried to book a show for late april up at the Bottom of the
Hill but the booker wouldnt return my phone calls....hope we have better luck when we plan the real tour in a few months

RE: idaho tour | from jeremy trueApr 04 2000 - 17:00

well! i was about to write that you hadn't played in SF since 8-22-98,
but it looks like the rest of the US is even more starved for IDAHO...except for ..umm.. IDAHO, which can't complain.
well hopefully you'll swing up past the city soon- i know Mark from Red house Painters is talking about playing in not too long also-
THAT would be a show!!! then again, then i 'd really have to pay to close attention to all the bands-
well maybe we'll see you at the Bottom of the Hill again soon-
jeremy true/faded

RE: idaho tour | from AlexMar 17 2000 - 12:22

Yeah, and don't pass by Atlanta/Athens, or we'll come after you like a bunch of obnoxious, unbathed, hippy-types!

RE: idaho tour | from scottMar 09 2000 - 12:48

I've emailed jeff already about this but you guys really need to play orlando fl. Preferably at the Full Sail Live Auditorium. You could also play at the Success Seminar which takes place at The University of Central Florida June 2-4. Anyway hope you can make it soon.

RE: idaho tour | from GregMar 07 2000 - 13:35

Any chance the tour might get to Canada? We'd love to see Idaho in Toronto.

RE: idaho tour | from kenMar 05 2000 - 20:13

oh, how we need the idaho tour to hit Texas. Preferably Austin, but I'll travel if I must! Saw you guys on the "3 sheets" tour and it was incredible....just hoping that I(along with many others) get to experience it again soon.

RE: idaho tour | from jEp Mar 02 2000 - 20:59

How about Starkville MS? why do we get
left out of the tour? come on, guys.
hi jeff..i play with a band
called kelly wingate...i think my friend Thomas
mailed you our cd. Just wanted to hear some
positive/negative feedback and why you haven't
played in Starkville yet..

RE: idaho tour | from MichelleMar 02 2000 - 20:03

well, luckly I have had the pleasure of catching you play live twice, but it was several years ago at The Brewery in Raleigh NC. Your music and lyrics move me....

RE: idaho tour | from Alex DelanoMar 01 2000 - 21:20

Please play here in L.A. . I saw you guys play at Borders in Santa Monica and again at the Troub and
you were awsome. I wanted to come up and shake your hand but I was in total awe of your music and the thought of meeting you in person intimidated me...

RE: idaho tour | from monicaMar 01 2000 - 17:57

Try not to skip Dallas. Please. :) I've never been able to seen you guys live either!

RE: idaho tour | from jeffMar 01 2000 - 10:20

yes, yes, amigo....we will tour like crazy people this year.....weve started to rehearse...the east coast is for sure.....europe as well.....the record is finished for the most part and just needs to be mixed.....

new york? | from christianMar 01 2000 - 07:47

O.K. Jeff. I've been listening to you for years, but unfortunately I have not yet had the chance to see/hear you live.

I'm sure there are a lot of others out there in the same situation. We would love an Idaho tour. Especially one that includes a few dates in NYC.

What are your plans? Will you be touring to support this new release, or even just for the sake of getting out and playing?
