I drove home from Connecticut yesterday, and I took the scenic route through the Hudson Valley.
I went through Red Hook and Kinderhook and saw a sign for Chatham (6 miles). The area is unbelievably beautiful. I felt as if I'd gone back in time to a picture postcard version of America at its best. And you're close enough to NYC that when the crickets start to drive you crazy, you can get a quick urban fix. Nice choice.
