Got the last two albums. They ARE good, but different. Freel missed the band, but I'm just glad he's still putting music out. Check them out if you can get hold of them, particularly "For all the beautiful people": there are a couple of songs on there that are almost up with "Sunshine Everyday" (which is probably the best song ever commited to tape). Feel free to disagree, but you're wrong.

I hope that they get back to more of what they were doing for "Well?", "Too Many Days Without Thinking" and "41". Their last couple albums have been really quite disappointing.

Their classic accoustic vs. electric guitars dynamic was at one point, in my mind, flawless... but they bought a keyboard along the way and seemed to abandon the guitars.

Sean Kirkpatrick is god.

Good news! I never heard their last LP but read that they had gone into the realms of atmospherics at the expense of songwriting. What I always wanted is one of my alltime faves.
Wish they would come and play the UK :(

new LP | from eraserheadMay 08 2003 - 09:26

For those out there who are fans of swell, especially the 41 lp and earlier. Sean Kirkpatrick the original, super fantastic drummer is back with David Freel (singer, songerwriter) and are realeasing an Lp due out this summer. They are getting back to there earlier stripped down sound.
I know I sound like one of those PR folks but I am just a devoted fan. And I know some of you should be interested.
