UF is probably their best, although Joshua Tree is pretty good. I saw them in 1983 with the Alarm in a 1,500 seat jai-alai fronton. there were about 1,000 seats empty.
I have the Palms EP in my computer now. First time i have heard Creep. Wow.....

the new songs:ohia is sweeeeeet! love the lush full-band sound.
the latest calla lp really impressed me too; kind of trance-inducing (or sleep-inducing if you're not a fan I guess). I especially liked the U2 cover being a closet U2 fan from way back - don't ban me from the board for this but Unforgettable Fire is still a favourite.

Received the new Song : ohia three weeks ago and I'm still not conveiced. I actually prefer the new Damien Jurado et a heavy post-rock band called Kinski. really nice stuff.

Saw Calla open for Interpol at the Fillmore a week'r two ago with some other shitty band whose name escapes me. Blecch.
I highly recommend the new Dirty Three, however. And I do want to try and see Songs:Ohia in Austin next month. I haven't heard much of their stuff but would like to.

Listening to it now. Derivative, but pretty decent stuff. I agree with the Iron and Wine banner wavers...and the Creek Drank the Cradle is a solid disc. Also trying out Songs:Ohia; Thin White Rope; The Sun; The Electric Soft Parade and, Unfortuntely
The Coral.
