pitchfork levitate review Post new reply

I guess the Pitchfork scale defines an "amazing" album as a 9.0-9.4, and an exceptional one worthy of a top 10 of the year list as a 8.5-8.9. Even though 2000 was an incredible year for music, Hearts of Palm would probably have ranked somewhere in the middle of
of my top 10. So maybe an 8.8-8.9 would have been appropriate.
Certainly is a tight album. It was also a little edgier than Levitate. Harder to figure out. I liked that about it.

brad, i thought the review was great. i was just wondering what sort of
score "hearts of palm" would've garnered. i think it's one of the tightest albums
i've heard in a long time.

I wrote the Pitchfork review. I apologize if it wasn't quite the masterpiece; I wrote it between 1am and 3am. I dig the disc, though. Definitely considering adding it to my top 10 of 2001.
If any of you want an incredible album, try Pernice Brothers "World Won't End." Way better than the Pitchfork review indicates.
