i was shocked to find "levitate" at my local Borders - a place where britney spears and n'sync are top sellers. people can say what they will about idaho needing a better distributor, but to get borders of all places to stock levitate - dale et all, i'm damn proud o' ya!

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from trevOct 29 2001 - 20:41

just got mine today. listening to it now.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from billOct 20 2001 - 21:50

Keep in mind the mail has been screwed up with the WORLD TRADE CENTER. I got my stuff right on time. IDAHO AND THEIR WEBSITE RULES.

Idaho fans need better Prozac | from RossOct 18 2001 - 10:52

What is it about this message board that incites such harsh sentiments. Mr. 'T', what may I ask is your employ? How would you like it if someone were to go into where you work and start criticising the way you were doing your job. Making sarcastic comments and basically taking personal jabs at you down while you were busy at it. I guess business is slow at the BOOK BARN, but nevertheless, have a little respect and consideration for others. Dale works pretty fucking hard as far as I can gather, and the fact that she is willing to call and check up on orders is fairly substantial proof that not only is she is very good at what she does, but she cares about IDAHO fans and customers. Most jobs are tough enough, but you try running a label you wise-ass.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from trevOct 17 2001 - 23:15

for the record:

1) T , or at least the one in question, is not me.

2) Such is my faith, as well as my inability to find a copy of Levitate in LA, that I am, at 2:28 EST, ordering a copy now.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from daleOct 16 2001 - 21:25

t

do i detect the tone of someone that is a bit remorseful for talking trash about someone on their own site? i should hope so. we here at idaho music are doing our best to get your orders out to you as quickly as possible and when something goes wrong we do our best to correct it in a timely fashion. if you're still bitter that's a real shame because there are a lot worse things happening in the world than a cd not going out to you. i hope that you have gotten your cd and are enjoying it.
if not POLITELY let me know.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from TOct 16 2001 - 04:50

oh and by the way - the "T" stands for "twat", which i definitely am.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from TOct 15 2001 - 21:47

Dale,
I suggest finding yourself a "CRM for Dummies" book and a long distance calling card.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from trevOct 15 2001 - 19:00

First, I've ordered both a t-shirt and a replacement copy of my old much missed 'Year After Year' CD from the website, and received both in a timely fashion.

Second, one of the things that makes a store stock the records is consumer demand. After asking Kim's in NYC to order an Idaho CD for me, they wound up getting 3-4 copies.

Which is a good reason to buy them from the store- I got my first Idaho CD because I read an article about Jeff and Dan (Musician? Guitar Player?) and then blundered onto a copy of '3 Sheets' the next day. Nothing like the impulse buy to bring new fans into the fold.

Don't knock local music stores - they are not all corporate whores. My favorite shop has turned me onto lots of music and is more of a local musician watering hole than anything else. These guys have been in business for 20 years and I want to keep them around! I'll buy through the web site if I have absolutely have to but I prefer a human, interactive experience if possible. So yes, you do need a better distributor.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from DannyOct 15 2001 - 09:57

I must admit that I was one of the
people who voiced concern over
delivery times of levitate....
However, I must apologise to Dale -
I recieved my CD today. The post
mark was dated over one month ago !
So, if you live "in the sticks"
(England) like some of us do, then
I think we can safely say that any
problems are down to either the
US postal service, or the Royal
Mail...

So thankyou Dale. The CDs great as
usual. Let us also have many
children.

Danny.

dale is a hermaphrodite with a nice voice on my answering machine. i just want to say thanks to dale. for checking up on my order, i don't know what kind a shit mr. t's talking. the man's getting all emotional, i got my cd nice and pretty. thanks to dale. let's have children.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from adamOct 13 2001 - 13:59

Dale is a she.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from DaveOct 13 2001 - 11:58

Also, a simple 10-10-636 before 1
and the area code will charge you
15 cents the first minute, and
only 5 cents per minute after that.
I know it's not the cheapest, but
it's supereasy and you don't have
to worry about changing phone plans
or submitting personal info to a
company you aren't familiar with.

And yes, it sounds like there's
been trouble, but going out of
his way to make long distance
phone calls, Dale sounds like he's
doing one hell of a job.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from markOct 13 2001 - 11:29

dale,

You've got to get away from the big three long distance monopolies. Long distance doesn't have to be a ripoff. Check out http://www.iphonebill.com/ I switched 8 months ago and it's saved me lots of cash.

OK, this is an odd plug for the idaho music board.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from markOct 13 2001 - 05:10

This has to be the first time I've ever been called to confirm delivery of an order for anything. How can anyone complain after that?

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from daleOct 12 2001 - 22:12

aw, schucks! thanks boys!
seth i am going to get you that cd if i have to walk it to seattle!

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from Seth HowardOct 12 2001 - 19:01

T - I used to work in customer service for an e-commerce retailer. I'm pretty sure you have no idea what a messed up order *really* is, and what shoddy service *really* is. I sincerely wish you luck with the e-commerce giants.

My copy of Levitate did not arrive as planned, but Dale has been very nice about it. Shit happens.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from Rob SOct 12 2001 - 00:48

Hey All,

I got my copy in about 10 days and I live in australia. So no problems from me. It's very satisfying to buy from the artist direct. I suggest trying it.
Good work Dale & Co.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from James MoviusOct 11 2001 - 23:34

Hey T,

If you want what you are expecting, you might want to go down to your local corporate music-whore record shop, close your eyes, reach into a bin, and swallow without thinking. You will get what you deserve.
If you want original music without the corporate aftertaste, be just a little patient and find Idaho elsewhere.
Hey, I think IN SYNC is about to play your town. Better get in line.

James

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from eraserheadOct 11 2001 - 22:22

Not a problem, Dale. you were the kindest person I have ever bought a CD from.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from daleOct 11 2001 - 21:20

dear "t" thank you so much for having the balls to say what you really feel and for leaving your full name and e mail address-oh oops! you didn't!isn't it easy to say just how you feel w/o the fear of anyone finding you out?
i have done my best at getting cd's out to people,i have racked up my long distance phone bills to call just about everyone to see who has gotten theirs and if they haven't what i can do to fix it. about 97% of the people have received it. we are about as small as an indie label can get, but please "t" encourage people to buy it elsewhere.because god knows virgin records needs the dough way more than us.

thank you to everyone else that has ordered through us.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from m.Oct 11 2001 - 08:26

i live in nyc i havent been able to find levitate anyware.
i just think its kinda sad for one of the best songwriters of our time not to get the exposure they need.
you guys gotta fix this, but im sure you already know this.
looking forward to seeing the shows. good luck
michael

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from adamOct 10 2001 - 16:19

Idaho do need a new distributor, nad it's no slag to their label. Dale and John and co. do a great job. But Idaho need to have wider avenues/higher profile. How are you gonna pull in new fans just selling from your website? What about those without the internet/ credit cards?

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from eric alan arnoldOct 10 2001 - 06:30

I am not saying that all my purchases have been 100% perfect from the website, but, I would rather support Idaho and send my money directly to the band than some middleman.

I am sure that all the glitches will be worked out.

RE: Idaho needs a better distributor | from chrisOct 10 2001 - 05:16

no luck finding sex in kansas? damn, i'm having enough trouble here in philly. i feel your pain, bro.

Supply does not equal demand apparently. | from TOct 09 2001 - 22:03

As much as I like Idaho, I have to vent:
Unfortunately, because finding Idaho albums in most music stores is harder than finding sex in kansas, I have to make all my Idaho purchases online. I have NEVER had a purchase go as planned. Bottom line: if you are looking for timely delivery of goods, use a commerical site, not Idahos. Either payment doesnt go through as planned or when it does, the goods dont arrive as planned. Debacle at best.
