RE: CD-R of Idaho b-sides and such.... | from kevinJul 16 2001 - 17:06
an album of ambient Idaho? I'd buy that...
(but then I'd buy just about anything Mr. Martin and his gang put out)

'Red Snake' appears as the 4th track on the UK version of 'Drive It'. It's only 1.04 minutes long and is really just a short and sweet bit of ambient guitar effect stuff (in the same ball-park as the live seques). Nice, but nothing to get too excited about.
Come to think of it, what about a compilation of purely ambient Idaho? Something to listen to while in the bath.
oops.. i forgot that 'shoulder back' can be downloaded from the mp3 section here...
john & jeff,
how about putting that long lost song 'red snake' (i think that's what it's called) on the compilation? i've heard that this song is found on an ultra-rare cd version of the "drive it" single. is this true? also many people have yet to hear the original version of 'shoulder back' that would also be a good one too.
Is there any other live songs (such as "Sweep" or any) that could be used on this compilation too?
Or is that another chapter?
I also think this is a great idea. I'd buy five.
Tally ho, John! I'm all for b-sides, a-sides, no-sides, any and all things Idaho. Hell, I even visited Boise and thought of you guys in LA. Just keep us posted, and thank you for the great news and ideas!
Marcio, you're check is in the mail.
Compilation of Idaho's b-sides?
What a great idea!! It may be hard to believe but Idaho turned out one of my favorites bands since I had the privilege to hear "three sheets to the wind". Then came the lovely "alas" and I began counting out time to hear the next effort and it was worthwhile 'cause "harts of palm" is no less than a masterpiece. Believe it or not but sometimes these Idaho's pearls make me cry. Recently I got the live one and found out that I need all the others specially b-sides. We deserve them!! They were made for us!!
I'm faithful!! Both very good ideas.
Patience, me boy, patience..
I'd be glad to help, were this not the subject of a record we're working on for next year. It will most likely be some sort of limited edition (small run) for only the most hardcore fans.Until then I hope you will satisfied with LEVITATE, coming October 2nd.(We may even offer it a tad early for the IDAHO faithful)
Check back soon for details...
More will be revealed
Here's the songs that I know of:
The Right Escape
A Ten To Noon
Hail Mary
Star
Jukebox
You Lost
Live Segues no.3&7
If there's anymore that I'm unaware of, I wouldn't mind having those as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If this isn't possible, I guess I could buy all the individual releases if there's any of those left lying around somewhere. If there's anything I'm missing on my list, please let me know. Thanks again.
This message is for Jeff (because he deserves the money) or anyone willing to help out. I hope I'm not out of line by asking this; it's not my intention. Anyway, I was hoping someone could help me out by burning a cd-r of Idaho b-sides,compilation tracks, and things of that nature. I was looking through an Idaho discography and I noticed a large chunk of songs that I don't have. I'd be willing to send over a cd-r and pay for this kind service. I'm going to write a list of the songs that I need in a response to this because I don't have them all written down yet. Thanks for any help. (p.s.) Hey Jeff, I was wondering if you remember meeting me in Philadelphia about 6-7 years ago. I gave you a crappy 4-song cassette of original music called "A Cold November Day: When everything is over"? I gave it to you at The Khyber Pass. It was also the unfortunate night that you were attacked by skinheads. (sorry to dig up such atrocities).
