Hi Jeff, I remember that you would love to work with Brian Eno, so I posted you a link to his Bush of Ghosts web site some time ago this allowed you to download two of the tracks from the album to remix, I think you could do a fantastic job and as far as I know the best mixes will be used on a remix album. Go on have a go.

RE: jeffmartin.net | from jeffJun 08 2007 - 07:47

i apreciate that.....will do

RE: jeffmartin.net | from jeffMay 31 2007 - 20:09

i US tour will happen early '08 when the new CD comes out......really it will. thanks for the info and BBQ offers!

RE: jeffmartin.net | from onetononionMay 31 2007 - 19:45

i've been a fan since Hearts of Palm came out and Jack Rabid of the Big Takeover magazine gushed about how great it was. He was definitely not exagerating and i've picked up every release since that time (including the back catalogue). I guess I'm posting this to say that if there's a new cd/dvd and tour getting ready to commence you better not leave chapel hill, nc hanging. there's plenty of great clubs. i recommend the local 506 for its more intimate atmosphere. i just saw califone there a while back. if you can get into cat's cradle that would be superior exposure. in fact here's the booking info. directly from their site:
Cat's Cradle
Attn: Derek Powers
300 E. Main St.
Carrboro, NC 27510
919-967-9053
Get it booked! there's too many huge music fans in the area for you to skip us. ha. Oh, and thanks for all the great music throughout these many years.

RE: jeffmartin.net | from az galMay 31 2007 - 14:57

I listen to Idaho at least, if not more than a couple times a month. There is no possibility that Idaho would be forgotton in my house, I have more Idaho CDs in my collection than any other band! Well, REM might have more but hey they started in the late 70's :)

Cmon Jeff, no love for the us back home? what a bummer.

RE: jeffmartin.net | from AlexMay 21 2007 - 10:51

^I second that.

RE: jeffmartin.net | from Mike MyersMay 18 2007 - 10:28

COME TO KANSAS CITY - I will feed you amazing BBQ!!!

One stipulation - you must play one track off of 'Forbidden EP'

M

RE: jeffmartin.net | from JR OlssonApr 12 2007 - 06:53

I haven't been posting for a while. But you definetly didn't loose me. I just got a new copy of the Forbidden EP from my friend Kern in Germany. It's fantastic! I have had the MP3s before but I didn't want to listen to them since I rather listen to the original CD.

I've also recently had a revival of the We Were Young And Needed The Money CD, really great songs on it. Drown and This Day are my favourites.

The videos on jeffmartin.net aren't working for me as of yet. I need to install something? That darn Apple...

RE: jeffmartin.net | from gerardoApr 11 2007 - 17:00

Hope you can make it as soon as possible....
we can't wait!!!!!
we need Idaho music as a life we live!!!
Ciao!!!
:)))))))))
G.

RE: jeffmartin.net | from jeffApr 11 2007 - 11:04

ill have the days cues available soon. im also going to be re-releasing the forbidden EP and alas together on one CD with some extra tracks and a DVD of video and super 8 from that time period (making-of and tour).

RE: jeffmartin.net | from DavidApr 11 2007 - 10:51

I agree with these folks. Anything you would like to put out there for us we would love to have. Personally, I LOVED the soundtrack stuff you put up on the jeffmartin.net page and would thoroughly enjoy having that to listen to...or another live CD kinda like the Paris show that made the rounds a year or so back, but from the soundboard...or new stuff...whatever you would like to throw our way, please just let us share in the wonderful music you continue to make :)

David

RE: jeffmartin.net | from m.swanApr 10 2007 - 22:49

i remember a while back there was talk of another live release, any thoughts still?
i still long for the "new" songs fom the last tour.
im sure there are many of us who would cough up the green for them in any form, cds, downloads etc.

Cheers!

RE: jeffmartin.net | from jeffApr 10 2007 - 12:09

its in the works :)

RE: jeffmartin.net | from DeniseApr 09 2007 - 20:14

Jeff...if you put it here we will pay!!!!! One hour of something you created will be well worth it--whatever the price....tour soon!!!! We miss you!

RE: jeffmartin.net | from jeffApr 06 2007 - 21:39

ill try to offer it here at the site soon...maybe for like a few bucks to cover postage etc. i listened to all the cues today after reading this post.....makes for a nice 1 hour CD

RE: jeffmartin.net | from MarkApr 06 2007 - 02:50

Hey Jeff,

This is Mark again. Just a question. I've just downloaded your score to The Days which completely blow me away. I'd just like to know if you're planning to release it officially in the future. I'd love to have an "original version", too.

Cheers.

ps. In my prevous message, I meant your latest CDs have made the greater impact on me - as opposed to the "older" approach. So, you've taken a perfect directiom, I guess. :)

RE: jeffmartin.net | from m.swanApr 05 2007 - 22:03

just wated to add that hop was such an amazing peak or cap to the idaho gtr sound but what i also wanted to say is that with levitate imissed the gtrs for a second but was completly blown away by the tickling of the ivory. mostly becuase i was so used to the idaho wall of sound, to hear the same tension and beauty with another medium i swear i could hear the feedback in the spaces. particulary on the chord change at the end of levitate, iwas expecting it and loved that i felt it but never heard it.

god im such a geek!

RE: jeffmartin.net | from MarkApr 05 2007 - 12:09

Hi Jeff!

I just thought I'd drop you a line. I usually don't write to message boards as I have so many favorite stuff it'd pretty much consume all my time. :) Idaho, though, is in my top 5 - just ordered Three Sheets to the Wind, can't wait to listen to it. And yeah, I'm very excited about the new release, quite frankly, your latest CDs have made the greatest impact on me. One of the most addictive kind of music I've ever listened to. Pretty much like a kind of drug. :) Aerial.

Hope I can see you playing live sometime in the future.

All the best.

Mark (a fan from Hungary)

RE: jeffmartin.net | from M.SwanApr 04 2007 - 19:22

Hello Jeff!
Can't wait to hear the new songs been a fan for so long but somthing particular about HOP really blew me away.............one of those moments when you hear a record that you never forget. it's been really amazing and enjoyable to hear you grow and expand as a songwriter i really hope i never see the end of it.

Cheers!

RE: jeffmartin.net | from gerardoApr 04 2007 - 06:21

Jeff
don't forget to come in Italy!!!
You have promised!!!!
Gerardo

RE: jeffmartin.net | from jeffApr 03 2007 - 11:14

good morning! so far the new CD is 100% vocal. the 1st few tracks i recorded where very mellow with no drums....now it looks like i may be off on sort of a hearts of palm trip....cant quite explain why but it may turn out to be HOP's big sister.... some big break-throughs in recording technique...... lots more guitar than TLG. cant wait for you all to hear it! going to tour this year too....of course i remember you alan..... hope to see you soon in the UK!

RE: jeffmartin.net | from greenApr 03 2007 - 10:35

Jeff, inactivity isn't a reason to stop loving! Lone Gunman was well worth the wait--though it caught some of us off guard at first. Just awesome.
I fall in love with your music every time I listen to it (and that's every day for 10 years now--damn!)Keep doing what you're doing (or not doing, heheh) because no one else can come close.

RE: jeffmartin.net | from alan kyleApr 03 2007 - 08:55

Hi Jeff!
don't worry about your inactivity-even the shortest Idaho song is always worth waiting for!
You probably don't remember me but I met you briefly at your last London gig- I'd travelled all the way from Glasgow to see my favourite band. My question is what's the new record going to sound like? I loved the Lone Gunman, but would have preferred to hear more of your lovely dulcit tones rather than instrumentals. Is there more singing on the next project? Any plans to play Scotland ever- I could round up quite a crowd!! take care and keep up the astounding work!
Alan.

RE: jeffmartin.net | from Geoff (with a 'G')Apr 02 2007 - 04:10

Timeless music creates unbreakable bonds... I can't imagine how anyone who's entered the Idaho world could ever think of leaving. Been listening myself since Pomegranite Bleeding and ain't planning on stopping yet...

RE: jeffmartin.net | from jeffApr 01 2007 - 12:15

RE: jeffmartin.net | from DeniseMar 17 2007 - 08:11

Jeff!

So happy to have this back up...fear not that you have lost your oldest (and most loyal) fans...I am still listening to all things Idaho to this very day, and have never stopped appreciating what you have created...just last night in fact, I reveled in driving home through the snow listening to the Lone Gunman...beautiful. Keep us posted on what's new...can't wait, and glad to hear you are still going strong. All the best!! Denise

RE: jeffmartin.net | from jeffMar 15 2007 - 17:32

hi david, always good to hear that idaho has made a connection.....ive been feeling like i may be losing some of the old fans due to so much inactivity...but hearing this really makes my day... my girlfriend and i love to eat at millennium by the way....one of my favorite restaraunts anywhere as a matter of fact. ill look for you next time i visit her . have you heard of the wine my dad makes up in saint helena? versantvineyards.com

RE: jeffmartin.net | from davidMar 15 2007 - 14:31

jeff, i have been a fan for some time now & must say that the musical evolution of this entity we call "idaho" has been quite beautiful, having been seen from infinitly seperate vantage points, scattered & hidden behind reflective moments in time. there are wonderfully mysterious places, which are usually found in the middle of the night, after consuming just enough wine to actually "feel" every little thing that exists. songs like "bass crawl" & "levitate" help to categorically preserve these special moments in time. thank you for the music. you should know just how much you music means to people.
p.s. i am a wine manager at millennium restaurant (vegan) in san francisco. if your stopping through and need some "fuel", i would love to raise a glass. cheers.

RE: jeffmartin.net | from jeffMar 15 2007 - 09:25

RE: jeffmartin.net | from jesseMar 15 2007 - 06:25

RE: jeffmartin.net | from EdMar 15 2007 - 06:21

Very cool, I will take a look at them. I do wish you had a DVD of music, live or studio much like "Gods Green Earth or 'Live Today Again' I have always enjoyed your writing.
