the blue nile is one of those bands that despite some pretty dated production transcend it on the strength of the voice and songs. there's a definite tie to talk talk and even some of the really mellow peter gabriel stuff.

i was really sad to be playing right when he played at SXSW this year. across the street no less. apparently he was brilliant.

I was the one who put "High" on my best of '04 list. I love all BN records. "High" might be my favorite.

I didn't like the album "High" very much, but the Blue Nile's 1984 debut "A Walk Across the Rooftops" is still one of my favourite albums.

Can't say I'm the biggest BLUENILE fan either. I do actually prefer PC. "Wind and Wuthering" is a great bad/good album.

i saw this "the blue nile" as someone's fav. album of 04. this dude probably has one of the most angelic voices i've ever heard. resonate.... i am impressed like when i first heard kozeleks resonator gullet. lol..
