RE: could you help mix this song? | from Seth HowardJan 21 2005 - 16:07

I understand the reasoning behind the mp3 bashing, but if you wait for the "perfect" conditions to record, you may never do it. It's ultimately about the music.

Douglas, MP3s sound very poor know matter how "high quality" they are.

i was never too much a fan of lyrics. i like foreign language. singing in tongues. the feeling that comes through makes me happier. using your voice the way you feel. instead of being constricted to just english and "proper" ununciation. still growing.

hey alex, question... even if i convert it at high bit rate mp3. do ya think it is a bad idea? not to mention i used a boss br 532 to record which is compressed to begin with. though i am thankful. is better than the original phonograph blah. i like the tone for a three hundred dollar recorder. do with what you've got right..! jeff, sorry my voice sounds weird to you. but you use what you got for sure. sincerely. if you are jeff martin, i gave you a cd once at a show and you wrote me a letter that said you really like my voice... if it is the same jeff. well i guess i am a little slow sometimes with somethings. but i'd rather be slow then fast. yes for sure.
but the song, yall you have to hear this one. it is sweet really. ill send just the four tracks and will use virus scan so you don't pick up any computer herpes. oh... in the ozarks where i live... it feels like spring is in the air and is coming soon. i am so excited

RE: could you help mix this song? | from mplasterJan 20 2005 - 15:16

definately, dude.

besides, if your computer is broke, how exactly are going to access these files and email them anyways?!?!?!?

:)

RE: could you help mix this song? | from Alex NiedtJan 20 2005 - 14:11

I'll tell you one thing. You sure as hell don't want to have people mix MP3 tracks. That kinda defeats the purpose of trying to make something sound good. But whatever...

RE: could you help mix this song? | from ronJan 20 2005 - 13:48

who is the original message for? anyone who wants to mix it??? hell, if that's the case, i'm game. send that shizzle over. unless it's a virus, in which case i don't want it.

hey dood! do you think you could try to mix this song i just finished redording if you like it? if you are bored and have recording programs/mastering software and are humbly confident with your ability/sensitivity will you try to? i can send you the four individual tracks in mp3 format through the internet. the reason i am asking is because my computer broke and i don't have the equip. now. i thought it might be neat
to hear how other friends would mix
it. it needs a good reverb. multi band compression, exciting on the vocals, maybe some widening, oh and
there is a lot of proximity effect on the vocal track (needs a cut off eq or multi band compression on the lower hz. at mastering maybe some inflator or loudness max /mastering compression plugin. that is my usual average routine. if you know about all that "jargon" then it fo sho ain't jargin' . lets try it? could be fun. ill put you in credits. and post it on my website at so people will have access to it. and ill put your name under it with a link to your musicsite or sumthin" www.douglasdeluca.com
