RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from KernDec 20 2004 - 14:26

I travelled 1,000 km last weekend but I went to another show in another city too. The Idaho show took place about 400 km from my hometown.

The show was amazing.
Thank you Idaho for all the beautiful songs you`ve written.

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from Dan TDec 09 2004 - 07:14

... sorry, meant October 2002. Doh.

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from Dan TDec 09 2004 - 04:08

...well, Leicester (UK) to New York in October 2000 (3,500 miles ish?). I was on holiday at the same time though, so does that count ?

I did meet Jeff afterwards for about 20 seconds if proof were needed of my sad sad fandom. Do I win some sort of booby prize ?

This year, Paris was a bridge too far...

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from brianDec 08 2004 - 16:52

just out of curiousity, who is travelling the farthest to see a show or shows? and who will be attending the most?

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from Emma, ErwinDec 08 2004 - 12:59

Same here. Saw the two performances in Belgium. Brilliant! Thank you.

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from StephanDec 08 2004 - 05:44

Show was amazing in Paris. Thank you Jeff

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from adam u.k.Nov 26 2004 - 03:06

Well, it seems my decision has been made for me - rather than going ahead on my own, i decided to wait to see if one of my friends wanted to come - they agreed, but the flights are now £140 return each. Damn my stupidity... I don't suppose anyone will be making a live recording of any of the shows? Or videoing any - that would be good...

hopefully see idaho in the UK soon

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from Dan TNov 20 2004 - 05:27

Adam U.K. - are you still planning to make the trip to Paris ? If so, feel free to drop me an email with your flight details and all that. I'm giving strong consideration to going if my boss lets me have a couple of days off (cross fingers!) and the flights are still free.

I'll also be on my jack jones as I've just spent the last few days trying to convince anyone in my social circle to come with me. I don't think i'm very pesuasive !

Dan.

UPDATE | from JBNov 19 2004 - 01:34

In case some of you don't know, these shows are now confirmed...

07.12.04 FRA - Paris, Le Point Ephemere

08.12.04 FRA - Rouen, Emporium Galorium

15.12.04 GER - Berlin, Club Frannz

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from bartleby beNov 18 2004 - 16:14

not to tantalise all you unfortunate uk fans, but i'm currently living near ghent, belgium and considering following the band down to Lille and Paris after their 2 belgian gigs. Just wondering if anyone else were planning to go to more of either of those 4 shows and is interested in meeting up...
if so, feel free to contact me since I may be ableto arrange a bunk bed or provide personal escort services for really desperate (UK) Idahoans making their way to see them in the rather remote hamlets of Opwijk near Brussels or Zichem near Antwerp on the dec 3 and 5.
In the meantime i'll just be dancing with glee that/wondering why of all places the tour is starting off there... ;)

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from adam u.k.Nov 18 2004 - 03:23

Apparently "BMI baby" have just released 10,000 seats to Paris from E.Midlands airport in December and January, for free! all that needs paying is the airport tax, so it's a £30 return trip... so, is anyone planning to make the cross channel trip? I'll be billy no-mates, going on my own, as no-one round these parts appreciates the genius of Idaho...

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from GarethNov 15 2004 - 10:38

Well, as I'm 25 and my girlf. is 23 we can travel on the eurostar as youths which is costing us under £150 each return, so we thought we'd blag it first class. Standard is about £100 return.

We're going on the Saturday to make a break of it, and hotels average about £50-£100 per room per night.

I'm sounding like a travel agent, so I'll stop now. Time I got that CV off to going places...

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from Dan TNov 15 2004 - 09:46

... the Easyjet from Luton to Berlin's very cheap (even with airport tax) and I bet the hotels will be cheaper than Paris...

You can get a return ticket from Waterloo to Lille (going on the day of the show, returning the day after) for £55 on the Eurostar.

It sure is tempting... That said, Jeff - Nottingham would be a lot easier, thanks.

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from DeanNov 15 2004 - 08:53

Any idea yet what it'll cost Gareth? I'm strapped but would love to go.

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from GarethNov 15 2004 - 05:23

So are any of you thinking of making the trek over the channel..? Me and the girlf. are bound for Paris; would be impossibly cool to meet a few of you over there.

I haven't really been taking an active part in any discussions here, but saw Idaho in London a couple of years back and have been hooked since no ones watching somehow made it's way to me back in 97. I can't help thinking Paris in winter might even eclipse that night at the garage, which was truly mind-blowing depite the turn out, so the eurostar beckons...

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from DeanNov 15 2004 - 03:25

Jeez. That sucks.

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from marcNov 14 2004 - 15:47

Okay, thanks.

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from jeffNov 14 2004 - 13:34

most likely no

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from marcNov 14 2004 - 05:39

Are there to be any more tour dates added?
If not, I'll pick a date in Europe and book my plane tickets next week.

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from MatNov 09 2004 - 04:36

How about Kent? the Medway Towns preferably..

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from Donnie darkoNov 08 2004 - 08:31

Me too.

I'll bring friends.

London or Brighton or better still both.

I am equidistant.

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from GeoffNov 08 2004 - 03:43

I'm sorry... If you don't play England I'll kill myself.

London preferably.

I'll buy the tickets in advance...

I'll pay whatever you want!

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from brianNov 05 2004 - 20:47

in case you didn't notice, there have been updates to the tour for France & Berlin.

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from sergioNov 04 2004 - 05:12

what happened to the tour since death cab for cutie cancelled? will the idaho shows take place anyway?

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from DeanNov 01 2004 - 08:26

Come on boys: you know you want a little UK action!

Contact Dave here:

info@gildedpalace.fsnet.co.uk

for a gig in Brighton. You will definately get a good crowd down here (very motivated/musical city)and it's a cool place to visit and Dave will really look after you.

Ask around friends about the gilded palace of sin.

Would love to see you (again) and maybe this time it won't take me 4 hours to get home!

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from janNov 01 2004 - 07:57

Jeff any chance when you have a day off in belgium, you'll be playing a session for a radioshow here in belgium. it's called duyster and it only plays music like yours and other beautiful sounds like sigur ros, efterklang, pedro the lion, rachel's,........it's the best radioprogram as far as I'm concerned

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from KernNov 01 2004 - 06:41

It`s a pity that Death Cab cancelled the tour...I hoped to see 2 of my "Best 5 Bands ever"-Bands on one evening.

I think I should visit 2 shows : )

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from ChrisOct 31 2004 - 12:47

HHHHHhhhhhhh... SHIIIIIIIIIIT !!!

France is not ONLY Paris and north !!

Good bands never play south :-((
We are only allowed to go and see hiphop or ragga bands... Do we have to pay for sunny weather ?

Gonna cut my wrists and crawl into my own blood !!

Or listen to that CALIFONE new record...

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from Dan TOct 31 2004 - 02:27

So are there any UK dates in the pipeline ?

Also, are the Paris / Berlin dates now confirmed ?

So many questions :-)

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from jamieOct 30 2004 - 00:57

I agree with Ash, us aussies miss out on a lot of good music - especially lesser-known american bands. I would love to see Idaho but i guess an Australian tour might not be that feasible.

I'm surprised though that there are so many european fans of Idaho - it's good to see Idaho has a good following somewhere...

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from azgalOct 29 2004 - 11:50

i really need to see this band even if i have to go all the way to paris. anyone wanna put me up? :)

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from BLOct 28 2004 - 05:26

YEH, Im with that, where are the LONDON dates! Think i'll take the Paris show, Jeff - put me on the door!

UK GIGS | from AlistairOct 27 2004 - 15:47

I agree you should come play the UK, im sorry no'one came last time, i really wanted to go but i lived in middlesbrough then, if you come i could hopefully arrange a reasonable contingent to make it worth your while

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from XXXXOct 25 2004 - 16:13

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from AshOct 25 2004 - 15:19

You guys are kidding.Australian Beer is the best bar none. And to all you guys who get to see the great Idaho live I hope you enjoy the shows and have a cold beer and think of us Aussies who will never see them play out here.
Can on IDAHO fans.

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from marcOct 25 2004 - 13:00

German beers are good, but Belgian beers are the best.

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from holgerOct 25 2004 - 09:06

jan, are you sure about the beers?
greetings from germany... ;-)

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from MatOct 25 2004 - 05:09

I think they're just teasing us, no doubt they'll be some last minute dates added.

Am gutted as i had tickets to their last gig in the UK at the Garage but i couldn't go 'cause of the poxy tube strike!!

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from JanOct 24 2004 - 13:24

You guys seem to love belgium
it's too nice that you guys play twice in a small country like belgium

but we have the best beers and the best alternative radioshow in the whole fucking world so...

Hope it will be as good as when you guys played at the botanique in brussels

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from Dan TOct 22 2004 - 04:29

... let's not forget the last London Idaho gig coincided with a tube strike, which didn't at all help. Surely would have helped put off the 'fair weather' fans.

Suppose that didn't stop most of us (UK people)from the board though - especially as we generally seem to be not from London...

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from stpehanOct 21 2004 - 16:47

any infos for france?

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from JBOct 21 2004 - 13:03

Sorry, no US dates...

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from adamOct 21 2004 - 12:12

hell - i went to the Garage, and i'm gutted about Idaho not playing the U.K. guess i'll have to make do with Sophia + a string quartet instead :0(

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from marcOct 21 2004 - 10:34

Maybe if people actually turned up to a UK gig, it might make Jeff & John more likely to want to play here again?

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from Dan TOct 21 2004 - 07:44

... Idaho at ATP - thats the dream.

C'mon Jeff - surely there's going to be some UK dates ? Don't force us all to go to Berlin on the cheap and cheerful Easyjet budget airline from Luton.

(£7 outwards, £3 return ex airport tax - and no, I don't work for easyjet.)

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from max & annaOct 21 2004 - 07:15

No dates in UK? No dates in London? Are you jocking? We've been waiting ages to see you playing live! We moved to London just one month after you played at the Garage 3 years ago....Come on guys! We adore your music!
I'm gonna try to write an email to David Pajo...recently reformed Slint are organizing next All Tomorrows Party in UK in february. Maybe he can include Idaho on the bill....

RE: EUROPEAN TOUR DATES | from gerardoOct 21 2004 - 01:04
