hey ali, thanks for the link... the version is a LOT nicer indeed! the ones for james orr complex seem to be broken though.
i'm still wondering what it is i dig about the guy so much. maybe that he's just so smooooth... and me in love?
anyway "under your charms" and "rise" are gonna make it into my this year's top ten. as long as jeff's not deciding to release a surprise christmas album or something. but hey, you never know do ya?

I don't get it either. I checked out the special edition 1972 from the library and found it to be very cheezy - just kind of employed a bunch of 70's cliches to prop up less-than-interesting songs. I watched the DVD too, and I was not impressed.

i saw him live once on his own with an electric guitar. i have never seen anyone as full of himself.

he's best just acoustic i think, check out his acoustic version of michigan on the dvd with the special edition 1972

and also this version of the love vibration

its just so much nicer than the album version

also while there check out the james orr complex

I have 4 Josh Rouse Cd's, and saw him last Ocober at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC. IMHO, 1972 is the 'weakest', maybe because it is differen stylistically then the other 3 - "Home", "Under the Cold Blue Stars" and "Dressed Up Like Nebraska". I love all three. He put on a great show as well.
Around the same time (18 months ago) also started listening to Richard Buckner and Matthew Ryan. Buckner is great, Ryan a dead ringer for Bob Dylan.....

I bought his latest cd "1972"; a great album. He's a good songwriter, i've see her in Paris, a splendid concert, with good folk songs, good band. His CDs aren't sitting in a selling cardboard. I'm enjoy to listen "Lavina" or I'll rise".

I bought his "Under Cold Blue Stars" CD because I'd read a ton of really glowing reviews. I listened to it a couple times, and now it's sitting in a cardboard box marked "CDs to sell."
