i'm not sure, but i think the fact that he was addicted to drugs at the age of 13 or 14 has something to do with it. working with folks who have polysubstance disorders (and many others) you realize that sometimes people neve really grow out of the age at which they first started using. kind of interesting. that's how you can look at a schizophrenic and guess w/in a year or two when they became sick, too. their sense of fashion doesn't usually go beyond the generation in which they became sick.

Fuck. I got a doppelganger. Fuck off Corgan. I told you before, just fuck off. Get your own fucking demons.

I hung myself 24 years ago. Heard Kozelek vomit when he was over in England with his parents. Couldn't hack it. Had to grease the noose...

Well? How do you? His singing makes me cry. Listening to him actually tear his stomach lining out after a pint of whisky is the most heartbreaking thing I've heard. Poor Mark. Puts his heart into the music, puts his pancreas, liver and gall bladder into the sink.
Still, I scooped some of it out the bowl, put it in a pocket, took it home. Now I got it in a jar and the bids on ebay're hopping in.
Rolling Stone says, "... and what a waste of talent, it makes me sick."
Uncut says, "This is the bile from a true artist's fucked up insides, unfiltered and raw, captured fresh and bleeding. Pay what you must: buy this beautiful moment, treasure it. It only comes along once in a daytime, so we can feel ourselves lucky that this was captured, canned if you will, for us all to enjoy, to digest and understand."
So, while I watch the bids climb, I drink. But, I know that however much I sink, I can't ever puke so sublime. I try and I try, but I always fail. My stomach's weak and my talent's limited. But, hey, I try. Ain't that what matters?
God bless Mark Kozelek.
