Spokane is a terrific band - if you like them check out Drunk as many of the same members are in it. Just about anything on jagjaguwar is great...Bevel, Nad Navillus, Patrick Phelan, etc.
JR Olsson is from Sweden, and he's enquiring about the band Spokane.
Clear?
dopes.
even i know spokane well worth checking them out as goes for lambchop & tindersticks, can't recall hearing anyone mention them, but then i don't check so frequently lately..
While Idaho is better, Spokane is great, though I wouldn't even place them under the same category. I'd rank them the same as Alex except I think "Measurement" is weakest. I'd put their debut a bit above it.
all this confusion! spokane is a great band, and their newest release, measurement, while it may be their weakest, is still pretty damn good. one of the "slowest" bands that i like, there whisper-like vocals and and warming sounds can be absolutely beautiful. but i've noticed a love/hate relationship with others when i play it for them. either way, idaho is far superior in my humble opnion.
i thought he was referring the band "spokane".
Apparently, JR, you live in Spokane and have never heard of Idaho before, hence requiring a list of the best Idaho albums.
Either that, or this new band spokane likes to put out albums that have the same name as Idaho albums.
This is funny. It's even better because in the scope of world geography, Spokane is really not that far from Idaho.
For my part, I have never heard of spokane, but my interest is not piqued. What do they sound like?
ron-
you are right- I totally meant to put Levitate in after YAY. It is stunning.
i would agree, but i would put "three sheets" after "hearts of palm," and you left out the amazing "levitate." i think by the third album you're emotionally ready to handle "levitate," which is arguably IDAHO's best album.
Start with Hearts of Palm, then buy Year after Year, 3 Sheets to the Wind, We Were Young and Needed the Money, This Way Out, Alas...pick up EPs as you find them.
Able Bodies, Proud Graduates, Measurement, whatever their debut was called. They're all great though. The titlte song from Proud Graduates is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
i am new to this band. i own the proud graduates and measurment. i got interested after reading some of you guys listened to them. to my ears they are kinda similar with low. and i like them alot.
how would you rank their released records?
