i'm working on the guitar and tablature section now. here's one of the better articles about the 4 strings. there are several fender-ish body styles, like the mustang, jazzmaster/jaguar and telecasters.

Thanks. I appreciate the tips. I've listened to more sound bites. What a band. Thanks for all the knowledge from you posters here.

I'm still interested to know about the guitar setup if anyone has any info. I saw a pic of him with what looked like a 4 string Fender Mustang. Odd. Sorry, I'm a gearhead and always looking at equipment and alternate tunings and such.

Don't listen to those guys...get "Year After Year" now!

I wouldn't recommend Hearts Of Palm immediately. I'd say Three Sheets To The Wind, Alas, or Levitate.

i think you should try to find 'hearts of palm' or 'alas'. or just about any other release. they are all good. hearts of palm was my first and it was a good way to go.

it can be found at http://www.retrophonic.com/

I have known of Idaho for some time and I have heard brief snippets of their music. I'm an old guy now with children and it's hard to keep up with the "scene" of good music. It's even harder to FIND good modern music if you do try to keep up.

Anyway, though, I VERY much like what I've heard of Idaho. Very impressive. In some ways, they occupy a part of the territory Sparklehorse does, but of course they are their own thing.

So few bands around I like these days. Nice to find something new and fresh and fearless like Idaho. Looks like I'll have to try to track down their past releases and catch up.

One thing I was wondering-- does anybody know anything about their (his) music set up? I have heard the guitarist plays 4 string slack key guitar. As I play ukulele that interests me. If anyone knows anything about their gear I would be interested.

Also, is there a "classic" or most recommended Idoho disc?

Thanks, ebbybody.
