RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from Jason EisertSep 06 2001 - 21:43

i can't find "the wishing tree comp..." does anyone know where i can find it?

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from Rob SAug 23 2001 - 05:03

I want the Grandfather EP too. I've never hearda that either.

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from JBAug 23 2001 - 04:21

Hi Jason, how's Alaska? That was an EP that was released in the U.K.
around the time of This way out. It has Ten to noon, a great song on it. Jeff has one copy of it, and I'm still looking for that and the Palms EP on Quigly. Maybe I'll find them when we play in London.
ooops! did I say London?
Nevermind.

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from jason eisertAug 22 2001 - 15:01

John, what is the Grandfather EP...i've never heard of that! also, I own the Palms EP, but not on Quigly...how do i get my grubby mits on one of those bad boys?

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from Fudlow InsagiJul 23 2001 - 19:03

Yes, go speak to yourself in this room, I as well as the rest really prefer to ignore you and your ownership of this message board. Long live the lonely king.

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from BenJul 22 2001 - 13:50

It's not over till I say so, buddy! It's in my "best interests" to call you a complete and utter dweeb. I was kidding about the recipe bit; I found the harsh responses to it hilarious.

Now, go away or I will taunt you a second time.

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from FudlowJul 22 2001 - 12:58

Ben, in your best interests, please drop the recipe bit. Its over, and lets leave it there, mmmkay?

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from BenjaminJul 21 2001 - 14:55

That's great, but what was up with Pete's Idaho recipe? You shouldn't allow that kind of drek to be displayed on the new site, Jeff.

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from jeffJul 21 2001 - 10:40

im worki9ng on a completely new site design....it will be up in a few weeks and ill have a discography page included....

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from adam in nycJul 21 2001 - 10:16

that would be very cool of you michel. please do

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from michelJul 21 2001 - 07:38

if you all agree i'd like to do such a thing; i'm off work next week anyway and i have 25 different idaho items to sum up.
I can fix a page and upload it on the net?
michel

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from JBJul 21 2001 - 04:36

Hmmmmmmm.....Jeff?

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from Seth HowardJul 21 2001 - 02:39

Hey John, Jeff, and everyone else...

Has anyone compiled a complete Idaho discography with track listings, label, cover art, etc...?

That would be a very welcome addition to this site.

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from John BerryJul 20 2001 - 15:25

Fudlow, Fudlow , Fudlow.... Worry not, my fine young friend, will will soon offer our remaining stock of the "skyscrape/Star" single. Mind you the quantity is very small and they will be abhorently expensive.(but not if you're a true collector). Chances are we won't put it with the "products", so E mail me for details.

Also: if anyone out there has a U.K. copy of "The Palms EP" on Quigly records, a"Drive it" single B/W "Hail Mary", or a "Grandfather EP" with "Ten to noon" that they would be willing to sell please contact me. Merci !

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from FudlowJul 19 2001 - 12:32

Ok, sorry, I was in a bad mood that day. I guess Im just mad that I dont have it, damnit!!! I have almost every of their releases, the cd ones, but I want that one, damnit!!!!!!!!!!

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from michelJul 18 2001 - 15:41

you won

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from ChrisJul 18 2001 - 11:34

Do I win?

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from michelJul 18 2001 - 09:59

i have 2 extra copies of split Idaho/cobalt 7" to give away as a gesture to get us boardreaders back into the right spirits. Now, in my opinion 'a' deserves one (mail me and let me know if you have one already or not) the other one is for one of you, who-ever first puts down a message after this.
Michel

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from michelJul 18 2001 - 08:19

a, contact me

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from aJul 18 2001 - 07:50

what is with you people? ..i just thought i'd do a kind gesture and let you fellow idaho fans know about a chance to obtain a really rare piece of idaho history.. don't get me wrong, if it was mine, i would never sell/auction it off. but since i already have my copy, i thought i'd just let everyone reading this know that it was there... i've never really been one to complain but, man, the overall attitude of this board really sucks lately..why do i really care how you feel about this whole 'auction' thing??? do the majority of people who frequent this board really think that jeff created this feature so that everyone can ridicule and be-little anyone who tries to make an effort to offer something that they feel is important to other idaho fans???

anyway, back to the topic of this thread.. b-sides and rare stuff...?

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from a bistanderJul 17 2001 - 10:48

maybe he just saw it on there and was letting us know. Could be something as simple as this.

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from Fudlow InsagiJul 17 2001 - 00:24

Why are you auctioning it anyways? Are you an Idaho fan that just needs money for your fix, or are you generally just that desperate? I think if you were a true Idaho fan, youd hang on to it for its greatness, not capitalize on your ownership of it for financial purposes. I guess some are Idaho fans, and others capitalize off of them, sad enough to say...

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from aJul 16 2001 - 10:09

just thought i'd let any one interested in finding the skyscrape/star 7" that a copy of it is up for auction on ebay here: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1446553025

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from jeffJul 12 2001 - 23:06

i think it was just 500....

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from wJul 12 2001 - 05:45

how many copies skyscrape were pressed?

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from jeffJul 11 2001 - 21:49

my friend wade ( who wrote the liner notes for the forbidden ep) took that picture of the train wreck....probably on one of his many hobo trips across the country

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from michelJul 11 2001 - 07:31

jeff, John, what's with the chaos on the skyscrape sleeve-pic?

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from JBJul 11 2001 - 04:49

Hey Joe, I ran into Scott Cymballa today. Who I haven't seen in several years.I asked him about the Bayonet. He said they pressed 1000 vinyl and 2000 CD's.
So, I was right. 3000 total. I hope that answers your question.
Cheers

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from JBJul 09 2001 - 04:29

Hey Joe, I'll try to find out for you.my guess is 3000 or less. It was put out on Fingerpaint Records, run by Scott Cymballa. I know the price seems hefty, but it's for the vinyl with extra tracks and we only have a handful left (less then 10?). When it's gone, that's it.finis.

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from Joe KrupinskiJul 08 2001 - 21:24

This is a message for Jeff M. I was wondering how many original pressings of The Bayonet E.P. were released. I actually met and spoke with you at the 3 shows you did in Chicago, and, to refresh your memory further, I'm in a band called peel, and dropped you a C.D.

Anyhow, I've been collecting (and obviously listening to) your C.D.s for the last 6 years, and I thought I had them all until I found a used copy of The Bayonet E.P. at a local store. Never saw a copy before or after that, and I also just noticed that Bayonet is on your site for sale for $25. If I had'nt already found it, I would definitely pick it up here. I guess to any hardcore fans of Idaho, I'd suggest, first checking your local used C.D. store, then spilling out the 25 bones on a simply fabulous flashback at the early days of Idaho. It's stangely different than much of the later material, and the recording is very raw, but that's what makes it interesting. Thanks Jeff and the band for being so very nice to me and my associates in Chicago, the music is great, and can't wait to hear the new disc, hopefully SOON!!!

Joe

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from jeffreyAug 12 2000 - 14:11

the b-side to fuel is a song john and i recorded during the year after year era...its called hail mary. someday all these b sides and unreleased songs will get compliled on a cd.... you can bet on it!

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from jeremy trueJun 22 2000 - 15:23

..the only unavailable song on the DRIVE IT e.p. was A TEN TO NOON- but wasn't that (until recently) available on the IDAHO site, cos i thought my friend downloaded it from there with all those other demos...
the POMENGRANATE B. ep always makes me think of an orange tic-tac- : )
is the b-side to FUEL unreleased? i thought it was another album track from this way out...

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from michelJun 06 2000 - 09:22

there's one pom.gr.bl 7" at: http://www.action-records.co.uk/cgi-bin/tame/Action/action_f.tam

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from danJun 05 2000 - 10:16

Not to pour salt in a wound or anything, but the sleeve for the pomegranate bleeding UK single is really beautiful. I would help if I could, but I only have one copy myself. We are unwittingly creating a bunch of difficult to find material (old singles, EPs with defunct labels, sampler CDs...). Hopefully we will be able to get all of this material to anyone who wants it.

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from daveJun 02 2000 - 19:54

Tally ho, ol' chap! Good form, yes I say!
Sorry - I don't make a good Englishman.
Anyhow, I just wanted to say that that sounded like a wonderful plan and I'll be looking forward to all of it.
Thank you!

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from jeffJun 02 2000 - 19:50

i swear im going to compile all this stuff starting in july when the record is finished.......the library is filled to the gills....yes the soundtrack too. ill probably offer that separately. some stuff will appear as mp3's as well

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from DaveJun 02 2000 - 13:25

Hmm . . . they're pretty tough finds.
I think I've seen both of those 7"s
pop up on E-Bay once.

I say we petition Jeff to MP3 those
mofo's or see if he'd come out with
a CD of rarities and B-sides and live
cuts, kinda like the second disc on
Red House Painters' last release.
If any of those are as cool as the
MP3s Jeff's currently posting
(especially "Spiral"), we'll all be
in for a treat and it'll surely be
worth the price. Maybe Jeff would
also throw in the soundtrack he did
to that one movie? Whaddya' think,
Jeff? Please let us know!

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from Seth HowardJun 02 2000 - 10:40

Musicfile.com has listings for the "Fuel" and "Pomegrante Bleeding" singles - but the seller has *horrible* feedback, so I have refrained from trying to get them from there. Has anyone had any success finding these?

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from Jason EisertMay 31 2000 - 17:17

hi everyone. does anyone know
where i can find the "fuel" and "drive it" singles on cd and/or vinyl? i don't even know if these were released on cd or not. i'm also looking for the "skyscrape" single on cd if it was released on cd. if anyone knows any of this stuff please e-mail me! i'm dying to find these precious gems! thanks a lot!

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from markMay 27 2000 - 23:45

In response to michel's Q
about "losing true" and "ten small
paces" they are Ida albums. Good
too.

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from jeffMar 09 2000 - 15:08

sounds like major typos to me

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from michelMar 09 2000 - 14:48

jeff, in gemm.com's lists under 'idaho' there are titles mentioned such as "losing true" and "ten small paces" Am I lacking behind?

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from jeffMar 07 2000 - 17:18

those are just three random songs i chose from the endless sea of unfinished ideas....hopefully ill mix most of them and release them after the next record....by next fall......?

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from GregMar 07 2000 - 13:46

What about the three demos posted on the site (dantanna, spiral and coolner)? I think they're right up there with your best stuff, but to my knowledge were never included on an album. What gives?

BTW, they are the MP3s getting the heaviest rotation on my cpu.

RE: B-sides Rare stuff... | from AlexMar 02 2000 - 12:04

Ooops! double post,..sowie

Hi Colin, I have copies of both the
vinyl Bayonet EP and the Fuel 7" and as soon as I get my turntable working, I'm going to figure out how to save them to my HD as Mp3s.
Once I do I will be happy to send them to you via e-mail, ICQ, Napster or whatever method you prefer. The only reason I have the Fuel 7" is because I was friends with this guy at a local record shop in west hollywood and he knew I loved Idaho so whenever rare stuff came in he held it for me.

Jeff,

I wanted to say that I am glad you put a message board up here, it looks great and is a great way for IDAHO enthusists to communicate. I just hope that people use it in a correct manner...

Anyhoo I wanted to express my deep need to hear some of the rarer Idaho songs, I know that most of them are nearly impossible to find. I personally have been trying to find the Bayonet Ep for like a year now (We have talked about this before over e-mail) I was close once on eBay but was outbidded at the last second by $1. If anybody out there has these b-sides and Rare songs I would gladly trade you music (I have a CD burner and I am a CD collector with alot for cool music) to just get a copy of those songs. I would even take a dubbed cassette. I would also gladly share the music with anybody who wanted a copy.

Jeff if you have the capibility (or legal right) to put these songs up on your site as mp3's that would be great as well. I know that you are busy with the new album but just keep it in mind. I wish you luck in the final mixing of the new album and I anxiously await the new beauiful sounds that will emerge from it. Be well

colin
