Alyson Hannigan.
Alyson Hannigan.
Bruce Hornsby - Scenes From the South Side
Men at Work - Cargo
And for some reason I really like the Sixpence None the Richer song "Kiss Me".
Alyson Hannigan.
the polyphonic spree, so uplifting..........
groping.
guilty pleasures....... hmmm, let's see
rape?
tranny porn.
Witchy Woman is an Eagles song.
Evil Woman is an E.L.O. song.
"i guess this is a big one. the first band i ever really got into was Stryper when i was like 11 years old. last weekend i flew to DC to go see them with my brother. it was amazing. i sang along to every song"
nuttin wrong with Stryper.
Soldiers Under Command!!!!!!!
To Hell With the Devil!!!!!!!!
The yellow and black attack!!!!!!
We owned back in the day!!!!!!!
Ross, I'm pretty sure Witchy Woman is an Eagles song. Not that you shouldn't still feel guilty...
I've found a lot idie music fans are down on a lot of the "classic rock" bands. So maybe I was being unnecessarily cautious.
Hmmm... but I guess a lot of idie music fans smoke the electric lettuce too...
Where's the guilt in Dark Side of the Moon? Nothing wrong with that. I like Parachutes more than Rush of Blood. Some Travis songs I really enjoy, but I really dislike a lot of them.
- Electric Light Orchestra (Witchy Woman)
- AC/DC (Highway to Hell)
- Pink Floyd (Dark Side of the Moon)
- Sergio Mendes and Brazil '66
- CCR (Cosmos Factory)
- Def Leppard (Hysteria)
Alex, just goes to show... I feel the polar opposite about the two Coldplay albums, although I do agree that the production sounds a bit 'thin.'
That song is exactly what I'm talking about c. Good call. Coldplay is definitely a good band. I like every song on Parachutes, but I don't like A Rush Of Blood To The Head very much. The only songs I really like on it are "Politik", "Clocks", and another who's title I've forgotten. The sound and production on the album really bother me. The first time I heard it, I thought I was listening to squashed MP3 files with smeared high-end frequencies. Maybe it's just me, but I think it could sound a million times better than it does. I also just think the songs are much more generic-sounding and underdeveloped than those on Parachutes.
guilty pleasure? nope.
i have to agree with alex. my brother LOVES travis and is always trying to play them for me... i just can't like them. too bland, but that's just my opinion. I'm terrible with song titles, but that one of theirs that was semi-popular a couple years ago, with a chorus of something like "sing,sing,sing.." - that song is wretched! anyway... i do like coldplay!
I think The Man Who is terrible. I really like a lot of The Invisible Band, but I just think some of their songs are really juvenile and silly.
"The Man Who" is a great album, but "the invisible band" was really disappointing.
Unless you meant Randy Travis or possibly Travis Tritt. heheh.
:)
Alex, i am shocked.. how can you list Travis as a "guilty pleasure"??? Travis are a friggin amazing group (well, not counting their 1st album.) seriously, they are probably like in my top 5 of best "new" bands of the 2000's.
go give "The invisible Band" another listen. check out 'pipe dream' or 'afterglow' or the last song and tell me this isnt a really really great band.
just my opinion, though.

Guns-n-Roses: "appetite for destruction." their other stuff is rubbish. the song "rocket queen" is pure rock. i was a huge Metallica freak in high school. i still think "...and justice for all..." is one of the greatest albums of all-time...by anyone... ever.
i guess this is a big one. the first band i ever really got into was Stryper when i was like 11 years old. last weekend i flew to DC to go see them with my brother. it was amazing. i sang along to every song.
Mine is a little-known band from LA called Idaho.
Yeah, my music in elementary school was Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Testament, Metal Church, and Flotsam & Jetsam. Tim, I listen to Depeche Mode too. I think quite a few people on this board do. I know they're one of mplaster's favorites.
dude, Anthrax was my band in seventh, eighth grade. Among the Living-fuck yes.
Depeche Mode is my guilty pleasure
Scritti Politti - "Cupid & Psyche '85" is a huge favorite of mine. Also, Genesis in the 1970's, "I Robot" by Alan Parsons Project, some King Crimson, Voivod, the list goes on. I don't really feel that guilty though.
Metallica, the new album! and maybe anthrax, one of my favorite band when I was a young teenager... Now I listen to the beach boys. Finally, Don't think I've really changed.
Tool, Poison the Well, 7Angels 7Plagues, most Seal, most Sting, some James Taylor, some Springsteen, some Travis... there's much worse stuff, but i can't think of it right now. i'll go through my cds and post again.
justin timberlake...I know, I know, but it makes me want to dance
The Housemartins - The People Who Grinned Themselves To Death
80's socialist boy band wussrock. Gotta love it.
