Yeah John and Jeff should play together again. nothing like pure Idaho. Any chance guys?

RE: low tribute | from fredOct 05 2003 - 22:54

since year after year 1993

RE: low tribute | from AlexOct 05 2003 - 12:02

He only plays with Idaho live. He hasn't played since This Way Out.

RE: low tribute | from marcOct 05 2003 - 05:14

Hasn't he played on the latest recordings? I don't know, i can't remember, and my CD's aren't at hand. He was definitely doing his stuff live. This is just a cover for someone else's benefit. It would be nice to see John and Jeff record a song together again, if what you say is true.

RE: low tribute | from AndrewOct 04 2003 - 15:13

Marc, I may be wrong, but I've gotten the impression many times that John doesn't play on any Idaho recordings any more. He hasn't since This Way Out.

RE: low tribute | from marcOct 04 2003 - 14:47

Okay, i have just listened to 'rope'. It's okay, but i can't seem to get into it, like a lot of Low stuff, i feel it's lacking that something extra.

Jeff, how are you going to do it? Perhaps you playing the lead guitar parts on the piano, with john going mad with the feedback in the background? I hope so. How is the new album coming along? Can we expect a new song to download soon, or should we just be patient, and let you get on with it?

I don't know whether this should be directed at you, or John, but i have downloaded the free tracks from Retrophonic, and there are a couple that i wouldn't mind getting the album of. Basically, are you any closer to letting us poor Europeans buying stuff from the web site?

Cheers!

Marc

Yes, they were on Caroline.

RE: low tribute | from jeremyOct 03 2003 - 05:16

That is great news, Jeff. I love that Low cd, too - it certainly matches a certain mood.

RE: low tribute | from BenOct 03 2003 - 05:13

I loved that first LP. I think I got into it via some tenuous Idaho link. Were they on Caroline too?

RE: low tribute | from scoobidooOct 03 2003 - 00:19

RE: low tribute | from AlexOct 01 2003 - 13:02

I don't know what Idaho is doing, but The Winter Blanket should stop playing music. Actually, they never should have started.

Saw the following on the Fractured Records site. Any idea which song Jeff will be performing?

frd002 WE COULD LIVE IN HOPE - A TRIBUTE TO LOW [coming early 2004]
not just a normal tribute album per se, but a reinterpretation of Low's first album, 'I Could Live in Hope', which was released in 1994. this record will be released in early 2004 as a 10 year anniversary marker of Low's classic, if not seminal, first album release and will contain covers by a few of Low's friends and past collaborators as well as a few artists that have, over the course of the past ten years, been touched by the music of Low. artists involved are Mark Kozelek, Jessica Bailiff, Migala, Pale Horse and Rider, The Strugglers, Empress, Idaho, TigerSaw, Misc and the Winter Blanket. more info soon.
