RE: shameless self-promotion | from adamJun 08 2003 - 12:44

Hey Jeremy.. Unfortunately no vibes for us at all. We rent them to record -- they're too bloody expensive to purchase. I believe we're headlining, and it's a three-band bill -- so roughly midnight-ish, I guess. Kind of late for a weeknight, but... whatchagonnado? And, just to clarify, we're playing underneath the silver dollar in the comfort zone.... hope to see you there!

RE: shameless self-promotion | from jeremyJun 06 2003 - 09:27

Well, you can bring them to Toronto, surely, right, Adam? Hope to see you guys this Monday, if not too whacked from my weekly volleyball game - what time, more or less, are you on?

RE: shameless self-promotion | from adamJun 05 2003 - 15:04

Thanks guys. Yeah, vibes are cool. Wish we could afford to bring them on the road.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from canuckJun 04 2003 - 17:05

very nice! love the vibes. looking forward to hearing the rest...

RE: shameless self-promotion | from AlexJun 03 2003 - 14:00

Sounds good. I particularly like the second song. Very pretty. Can't wait to hear it all w/ the other instruments. Good luck.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from adamJun 03 2003 - 13:49

If anyone's interested, I've just updated the site with some new- albeit unfinished - material from the new record. Not to make excuses for the material, but the songs are unmastered and missing some critical components (violin, slide guitar, etc...) but it's unfortunately necessary in order for us to book/ get some press... Hope you enjoy it.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from adamMay 17 2003 - 12:01

Thanks for the nice words, guys. We fully intend on heading south of our border in August/September.

Andrew, I'll be in touch with you shortly...

RE: shameless self-promotion | from andrewMay 17 2003 - 11:20

Adam,
I am very impressed and I want your music--both the old Ep and the new full length. Also, I strongly suggest that you get in a van and come down to the states--especially out west. I have many contacts that would be very happy to set up shows and bands of similar influences that would share the bill...
OK, how do I get the CDs?
The Rex reference is quite accurate, and a huge compliment.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from RonMay 17 2003 - 09:45

adam: first of all, the name Ten Year Drought is brilliant. secondly, i listened to your stuff and it's brilliant, too. if you ever want to gig out in Ohio, let me know.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from adamMay 14 2003 - 17:52

Hey canuck, thanks. Zap me an e-mail and I'll make sure we can get one to you in the next couple of weeks.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from canuckMay 14 2003 - 17:32

great stuff!

when are you going to make it out west (Calgary)?

where can I get cd's?

RE: shameless self-promotion | from adamMay 14 2003 - 11:30

Nice stuff Mr. Olsson. All comparisons are odious, but I hear a nice strain of elliot smith in your work. cool.

Jeremy, our bio is a little over-dramatic, but you get the picture. I still spend a lot of time in T.O. Hope to see you at the Silver Dollar...

I'm going to put some of the new songs (from the forthcoming full length) up in a week. I'd be anxious to hear your response to some more recent material...

RE: shameless self-promotion | from JR OlssonMay 14 2003 - 09:52

RE: shameless self-promotion | from JeremyMay 14 2003 - 08:48

Hello, Adam...greetings from the plastic city you fled. Very nice tracks. Will try to come see you at the Silver Dollar in early June, if I haven't (temporarily) fled the city myself.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from JR OlssonMay 14 2003 - 08:35

i change my mind. after a few spinns it's brilliant!

RE: shameless self-promotion | from adamMay 14 2003 - 08:30

Wow. Thanks for all the positive feedback. No label, farmcafe, but we're working on promoting our new record the laurentian season which will be realeased this summer. As far as the old record, it's an old release from 2001, so I'm almost out of copies (I think I've only got about 20 left), but we're working on reprinting some more when we have the resources. Also, trying to figure out the best way to trade money on the internet. If you sent me an e-mail, I'll be getting in touch with you shortly.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from JR OlssonMay 14 2003 - 08:13

i like it. good band.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from EdMay 13 2003 - 20:30

Duck for cover, you should be running down the street naked, my man.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from eraserheadMay 13 2003 - 20:28

Very nice.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from AlexMay 13 2003 - 19:03

Very impressive, indeed. I agree completely with Farmcafe. I'll be e-mailing for a CD as well. I don't think there's anything wrong with the people who post on this board to promote their music. It's amazing how much talent lies within this glorious little message board. I just had a fun thought, although it probably won't happen. We should have an "Idaho Message Board Members" CD. Everyone can contribute a song or two, and it can be sold on Retrophonic.com...(Right Jeff & JB?) We'll make millions!!!!!

RE: shameless self-promotion | from farmcafeMay 13 2003 - 14:42

i went to your site and the music surprised me by being interesting, competent and even affecting (in a good way). are you with a label? because your material deserves a hearing.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from adamMay 13 2003 - 08:00

drop me an e-mail and I'll get your address. We're working on figuring out how to sell them online.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from TimMay 12 2003 - 16:23

Hey Adam the site looks great. where can I get a copy of the motorist's prayer e.p.

RE: shameless self-promotion | from adamMay 12 2003 - 12:41

Tank ya!

RE: shameless self-promotion | from JBMay 12 2003 - 12:28

Looks good !!

my bands new website | from adamMay 12 2003 - 11:36

My band has just polished up its first website, and I thought I'd open it up to all you Idaho fans, to see what you think. At first I was a little reticent to plug it so shamelessly here, but I figure any feedback from Idaho fans would be a good thing. Lemme know what you think (Ducking for cover).
