its a combo with the reddish grill cloth...looks like im gonna keep it for a while at least to record bass thru for this record...ill post again when im ready to sell
jeff is that an ac30 head or combo, and what cloth colour?
Dan! What you up to boy?
yeah the API was me...i sold the API eq's years ago and had the empty lunchbox sitting around...i was surprised how much i got for it. ..
at least i'm not the only one who noticed some of the equipment on ebay.
i don't think there's anything wrong with advertising your equipment sales Jeff, I know any of us that play would love to have something if we could afford it.
Hey Jeff. Are you selling any recording gear? I could swear I saw an API lunchbox up on ebay a while back.
I thought we recorded the bass for bass crawl on that lovely AC30 as well didn't we? It is very tasty. Hmmm. Maybe I will buy it...
its a 1964 and my ac 15 is a '64 too i believe.
Jeff - Mainly out of curiosity, what year is it? And are you now using one of the reissue AC15's or an older one?
Brian
i'd buy it if my ears weren't so sensitive to volume.
i genuinely dig your music by the way.
take it easy
this may seem like the wrong place to advertise but i may sell the AC-30 that was used on all the idaho records.... probably used more than any other that i own... i have an ac10 and an ac15 now that work just fine and need$ to help get us over to europe this year...ill probably put it up on ebay in a few days unless someone makes a decent offer sooner
just got a '65 deluxe reverb (not a reissue) in excellent condition on ebay. should be in here in about a week.
i am EXCITED.
have a good one
a recent find this week i had to have, a 60s blackface fender showman. is super loud and really clean. i also bought a roland 4x8 cabinet to run with the showman. i love roland speakers. how could you not?
Check out Hartke bass amps. They have very low self-noise (great for recording) and nice, full, warm tone. Regular guitars sound great through them as well. I'd recommend the Kickback 15" model if on a tight budget.
hot rods are notoriously loud. i don't play in a band so i don't need that kind of power.
i found an ac15 reissue for a decent price. should be buying it today.
thanks for the help and suggestions.
Check out the Hot Rod Series from Fender. Very versatile, warm tube sound in a variety of configurations ( 4x10, 2x12, 1x12). Affordable too.
found another post that agrees with you. both of those are on my 'to-play' list so that's good news, especially as they aren't $3k pieces of cheese.
thanks for the assist!
He plays a Fender Deluxe and a Vox AC 15, I believe. There is a big thread on this somewhere on this board...
hi!
i recently discovered idaho. it took me about a week to dig heart of palms, but i can now say it's probably the best album i've ever heard.
i've been shopping for a new amp lately without any success. the clean guitar on 'dum dum' is gorgeous - does anyone know what amp that is? couldn't find anything on google so i appreciate any help.
thank you,
chris
